nitespa is a one-of-a-kind place. it is a very special little spa that I go to for all of my beauty needs- I have gotten waxed, manicured and massaged and have always been stoked ...

Funky Pampering 6/22/2007

My man & I decided to pop in, and check out the place, since there always seems to be groovy tunes coming from inside the joint. Even tho we didn't have an appointment, and it was 10pm on a Friday night...We were greeted by a gregarious and voluptuous hostess who invited us to have a seat. She brought over two Moroccan glasses filled with wine and a cheese plate while we checked out the spa menu. I ended up getting a pedicure and my man - a chair massage. The DJ was awesome the vibe was like hanging with a bunch of old, quirky friends. I loved it. I want to go back with all my girls and rent out the whole place for a night of pampering! Pros: Coolest Spa on Earth more

Children of the Nitespa....what music they make. 6/19/2007

Best resurrection for post debauchery. Miss Lolita conjured an exquisite beggar's banquet for my traveling hordes one mid summer's evening complete with an accurate recreation of the Stone's above mentioned tablesetting....under the stars to boot! Afterwards, we were revitalized with massages, facials and pedicures. The afterglow of Nitespa left me dreamy for a fortnight. I gladly travel 500 miles a few times a year just to get my fix. more

innovative idea, but they like to upsell 5/21/2007

I love that i could go get a facial at night! Very cool. I got a gift certificate for my birthday and made an appointment. While she was working on me, the techinician said a different type of facial would be better for my skin. I trusted her, as the pro, and said OK. But she didn't mention that this "other" kind of facial was a lot more expensive and I ended up having to pay like $40 on top of my gift cert. I was annoyed because I know my friend wanted me to have a free facial as my gift and I think the techinician should have told me it was going to cost more. So at least i would have known. I like the facial anywaybut it left a bad taste in my mouth. Pros: great hours, pretty inside Cons: underhanded upselling more

Cutest spa in the world, Great brazilian wax 3/25/2007

I love this place, it was so adorable and had an awesome atmosphere. Nitespa was totally hip yet completely professional. The receptionist called me back immediately and fit me into the schedule that day! Plus I'm totally nocturnal and I love the late hours. It was a little hard to find because the side street is so small but the guy talked me through the directions on the phone. I only had to wait a few minutes and they offered me water, tea, anything I wanted. The receptionist was really friendly. I've gone to a bunch of places to try to find a good brazilian wax and this place was awesome. The esthetician used only hard wax and lots of baby powder so I was so smooth after, and usually I get really bumpy. Also she was really cool and fun to talk to. Plus it was really well-priced. Back home I pay $100 min. for a full brazilian, it was $65 at Nitespa. Way underrated, highly recommended!!! more

Pascale gives the best brazilian wax! 3/22/2007

I have been living in LA for about 1 year and have struggled to find a place that gives a great brazilian wax, has a nice atmosphere and isn't insanely expensive. Nite Spa surpassed all of my expectations! The parking is easy (and free), the atmosphere is really relaxed and fun, the staff is super friendly and you get wine! It doesn't get much better than that. The best part of the experience, though, was that Pascale gave me the best brazilian wax I've ever had! I recently got waxed at a very expensive spa that left me wish a terrible rash and patches of hair left over. Pascale left no hair untouched (she's a perfectionist), was so gentle and friendly, and very experienced. I left the spa feeling so relieved and satisfied with the results. I would highly recommend this spa (and especially a wax from Pascale) to everyone. =) more

BEST FACIAL OF MY LIFE 3/4/2007

I've been to lots and lots of spas, but Heather gave me the best facial of my life. My pores were so clean, my zits cleared up immediately, the pores on my face seemed to disappear, and my skin looked way younger, so much so, that I didn't even need make up for days. I bought a lot of the products, and I can't live without them. They were so great, and flexible with my schedule. Seriously, check it out. more

Wonderful atmosphere, staff and services 2/23/2007

I've never been anywhere with such personal, friendly service and attention to detail. The staff at Nitespa are its best asset -- I've made several visits and everyone I've met has been very helpful, charming and interesting as well as knowledgeable and skilled in their field. If you want tips on how to keep your skin fresh between facials, avoid ingrown hairs between waxes or keep your toes tip-top between pedicures, these are the girls to ask. The atmosphere is so relaxed and sociable -- and the staff and other guests so friendly -- that I always leave feeling like I've been visiting friends rather than a salon. I have to recommend a few people by name -- Heather's facials and make-up applications are incredible, Pascale is the best waxer I've ever met (and I've met plenty), and on my last visit I met Christie, who gave me an excellent pedicure and did some crazily creative color layering. Julia is an incredible hostess and provides a great environment in which to hang out before or after your treatment -- check out the 40-odd-year-old etiquette guide if you fancy a giggle! Pros: evening appointments, great location just off Abbott Kinney, friendly staff, execellent services, great music, cute and interesting decor more

Nitespa is like peanut is to butter....like Pinot is to Noir....like bubble is to bath......and like Secret is to Victoria. it is a TRULY a well kept secret that is lucious and exciting and familiar all at the same time. Yes, open late, til midnight or beyond. check it out and be impressed. be very impressed. you deserve it and will get it at NITESPA Pros: the ambiance, the color scheme of a faire, the dazzling beautiful famous people Cons: the dazzling famous beautiful people were distracting. more

Fun, Funky Spa with Fabulous Service and Atmosphere 2/21/2007

My boyfriend and I had a date at the NiteSpa and enjoyed one of our favorite nights out in a long time. We had a relaxing pedicure while sipping wine and listing to some good music. I also booked a party at the nitespa with a group of female clients and it was a great success. We were offered "mini" serivces of our choice (manis, chair massage, make up, eyebrows ...) and eveyone left happy. It is a nice change to have a spa also be a social fun place. Nite spa has done a great job creating a relaxed cozy hip Venice feeling while offering very professional services. more

Best pick me up ever!!!! 2/20/2007

Nitespa has atmosphere a go go!! This cool hangout has heart and soul. It's the perfect environment to catch up with an old friend or get to know someone new. Julia Martin the proprietress of this establishment is a loving, kind hearted American original, a struggling dreamer that should be supported, why would you want to give your money to a creepy un-caring corporation? Love locally!! Support the homegirls!!! more

Glamour, fun, and no pretentious idiots! I'll be back. 2/20/2007

My girlfriend gave me a gift package to this place, and I normally hate so-called tranquil spas and find them full of pretentious ass-kissers. Nitespa rules! The service is kind, attentive, generous and REAL. These people really like what they are doing, all in a super-eclectic space that makes you feel totally at home. I have recommended these guys to everyone after grudgingly took my gift appointment there. All my friends have loved it too. I imagine there are some spoilt idiots (see review below) out there who want something more uptight, but let them go there! Nitespa is the best, thanks Julia and Michael! Pros: Really scincere help, recommendations. Great staff, happy vibe. Cons: I wish there was a nitespa on the eastside! more

Further proof Venice rules 2/20/2007

I love Venice and nitespa is one of my favorite places there. The work is great -Pascale gives the best Brazillian waxes I have ever had for instance. Also, I am in love with the environment... It's warm and funky and magical. I usually stay and hang around awhile. Also amazing, btw: Tracy's palm reading.. not your mom's palm reader. ;) more

Spa nights served attitude-free with warmth and style 2/20/2007

Visiting Nitespa is like spending an evening with a great friend- a hip friend with the best Venice pad- who happens to serve you yummy beverages and pampers your tired body! I have been to Nitespa 5 or 6 times now- had a bikini wax, facial, massage, manicure and 2 pedicures there. I loved the casual atmosphere and the music, and hanging out on the front porch watching Abbot Kinney denizens stroll by. The services were all great, but I sure look forward to their expansion so they can have more treatment rooms. Pros: you're treated like a friend who dropped by, location, hours, environment, aestheticians Cons: limited number of treatment rooms more

If you dont have anything nice to say... 8/24/2006

I scheduled simultaneous pedicures for myself and my boyfriend thinking that he would feel comfortable at this spa since they advertised male services. We arrived a few minutes early (after struggling to find the place) and they were not ready for us. The previous client was still in one of the two pedicure chairs. They offered us wine, and it took about 5 minutes to open the bottle and pour two glasses. Then they tried to make one of us go first because another person (looked like regular) came in asking when she could get her pedicure done. I agreed to start first, and my pedicurist immediately chastised me on how poorly I cared for my feet. I'm paying her money to make them look nice; she doesnt have to continually berate me for not using olive oil on them everyday. While she continued to tell me about proper foot care, she gave me the longest pedicure I've ever had. And she didnt even do that nice a job with the shaping or polish. My toes are still a little rough. And my boyfriends are not in much better shape either. Granted they were pretty bad to begin with, so there was improvement, but his pedicurist did not shape them evenly. Overall, I was unimpressed with the spa and the pedicurists. It was overpriced for the service and I did not pay for a lecture on foot care. more

Super fun - Super service - Super facial 9/14/2005

Cute little converted cottage - ultra girly with a kitschy, artsy, cool feel. My friend arranged a "girls-night" there - you basically rent the place out for 4 hours, slip into robes, listen to tunes, nosh on treats, sip sparkling wine, and enjoy the many pampering services offered. I rushed in after work and was immediately downshifted into a relaxed and giddy mood. I just signed up for a facial, but it was enough. She used serious cleansing techniques that completely revitalized my face, while giving me a serious neck/shoulder massage that worked the stress right out of me. Warning to those looking for polished pine, marble, and the "Sounds from the Olympic forest" playing. They worked to make it like your artsy friend's cozy cottage, and that's exactly what it feels like. It's definitely not your mother's day spa. Pros: Fantastic facial, Great customer servic, Fun/comfy environment Cons: Priced a bit high more
