Ninjin opened right around when I moved to LA (4 years ago), and back then they had decent, but not exactly mind-blowing sushi. The decor was simple, white, and a little drab.\r

However, It seems that recently they have renovated their restaurant, and perhaps hired a new chef, because now the sushi is VERY good, especially considering the price, and the restaurant is now somewhere that I would actually like to sit down and eat a pleasant meal.\r

We ordered the Sushi B dinner special, and it was an incredible bargain at $16 - the quality of the fish and rice was that of a much more expensive sushi restaurant. There was a nice variety of fish, too - octopus, salmon, shrimp, albacore, whitefish, and several others. We also ordered one of the special rolls that had crab, shrimp tempura, avocado, and tuna - this was about $10 and totally worth it. They also gave us free edamame when we sat down, which is always welcome. We were stuffed, and the tab came out to about $35 for two people.\r

I am so glad to have re-discovered this place, since it is within walking distance of my apartment... I'd say if they keep the quality up, this is the best inexpensive sushi in the area by far.\r
Pros: Inexpensive, great value, fresh fish, friendly
