Editorial review from Citysearch 6/26/2013

I found Nina Friedman to be a useful aide to my job hunt. I was out of work for a few months before I started working with her. After several sessions working on interview technique and other things, I finally got two good job offers.\r \r I would recommend Ms. Friedman to anyone who either doesn't know what career path they should take, or who, like me, is having trouble turning interviews into job offers. more

My work with Nina definitely helped me know that my new career move was inline with my interests and skills even though we didn't work together to define exactly the direction I would be heading - it came about somewhat organically and as I look back, I know I had the confidence to pursue it because of the things I uncovered about myself in our explorations together.\r \r Nina has also given me very helpful suggestions and coaching when it comes to preparing for interviews. She quickly grasps the type of help I need and gets straight to the point. I now know how to prepare for the interview in a much more efficient and effective manner. Nina really increased my confidence in my ability to interview successfully. more

I do not recommend! 2/16/2011

I know the following is long but please take a minute before wasting your time and money\r \r I met with Nina prior to an interview. Prior to our session I discussed with her on the phone my need to have someone overlook my resume and practice with interviewing skills. I sent her my resume prior to our session via email. She asked that I park on an adjoining street in subzero weather in a neighborhood where the sidewalks were icy. When I arrived I realized she had parking in front of her house (she does not note that this is her home and not an office on her webpage). I knocked on the door, Nina answered the door looking nothing like the picture on her webpage. She introduced me to “Pus-Pus” her cat. Again, I would have liked to known this since I have an allergy to cats. She directed me to her basement where she told me she would be right back. It was 0731, our session was to begin at 0730. She came back with tea minutes later. In 1.75 hours she gave me one legitimate suggestion: write down 15 adjectives/adverbs that reflect my personality and/or work ethic and sprinkle these words into the interview. As the session ended and I was annoyed with Pus-Pus meowing outside her “office” door disrupting our session she informed me “I spent 45 minutes on your resume last night. I get paid $150 per hour so I will need more than $300”. She waited until I was leaving, not when she asked me to email her my resume, or when I got to her “office” or as we began our session…but as I was literally writing the check out for the agreed upon $300 that she wanted an additional $112.5 for her time to look over my resume. \r \r As I left her “office”/home I was annoyed that I had been scammed—well, maybe I wasn’t annoyed until after I got safely back to my car in the -5 degree weather and icy sidewalks. To boot, Nina knew my interview was on a particularly day the following week and she never followed up or expressed concern with hearing how my interview went.\r \r I write this because I wish desperately someone else had given me information with regards to Nina’s services prior to my session.\r more
