Went to Nic's for my birthday recently...had a reservation for 16 and had 12 for dinner - they tried to charge us for 16 saying it was in some sort of contract I never saw/signed....

Great Night Out 5/26/2005

Nic's has it all...cool vibe, sleek 50's stylinin delicious food but the martini scene combined with some of the hottest jazz and music I've heard out here.It's bohemian yet modern a mix of all ages come together and meet. Barteneders with big personality's! Thid place used to see Dean Martin and the boys back in the day. Now it's Luke and the men who really rock this place-the real man to know is Nic-ubbber cool. What a find! 4/7/2005

This place is a great combo of neighborhood vibe meets celebrity's out for a night on the town from the moment you walk in the door everyone is treated like a celb-the host is young but very gracious. You'd think in BH you're gonna find people with attitude-not here-everyone is friendl, entertaining and knowledgeable. We went into their Giant Freezer called a VODBOX-it's a place for small groups to go in and tast vodka from strange places. We put on leopard coats and hats since it's freezing in the room. what a blast took lots of pictures tasted 2 different vodkas and visited with the ambassador of vodka Jon-he had his own giant furry Russian headpiece! We had the gnocci for appetizers-best I ever had. I'm going to come back for my birthday-it's a total blast. Pros: great vibe for everyone Cons: great service more

THE MMMOST SEXY LOUNGE EVER 9/2/2004

Nic's is truly amoung the most fabulous of places that i have ever been to. The bar is excellent with more martini's than i've ever seen before.The food, drinks, and ambiance are worth every cent that i spent there . I am french and sometimes my accent gets in my way, Nic's even had a (quite sexy) bartender there that spoke my language. Me and my friends had a blast. i recommend going on a friday or saturaday night when they have a live band. It's awsome. loved the opium den. more

Stewart and the boys 6/22/2004

I've been to Nic's 3 x in the past month on a Friday night. The band is OUTSTANDING! And, the food is GREAT! We had the fabulous ""Nic's Oysters,"" the steak skewers, chicken skewers, potato skins and quesadillas which were all GOOOD! The food was Incredible! 6/6/2004

I took my wife and mother to Nic's on Saturday night. I can't begin to tell you how pleased we we're with our dining experience. I could write 10 pages of positive feedback; however I'll give you all three highlights. 1) Their gnocchi with morel mushrooms and champagne cream was the best sauce I've ever tasted. 2) The pan seared filet mignon with blueberries was better than any steak at any of my favorite steakhouses. 3) Our cocktails we're poured to perfection, my Manhattan was wonderful! They have a great cocktail hour special that I've already started recruiting my friends to attend. This may just be my new favorite place. Thanks Larry, Well be back soon! It's not all that 6/5/2004

So the pomegranite martini was good, that's about all. Made a reservation and we were seated right next to the band and directly in front of the bar. Don't like the feeling of being the only one in the room eating while everyone is up at the bar drinking. Aside from that, I was quite dissapointed with my dish. I had the eggplant. I don't know if they don't use salt in their cooking but it was extremely bland. My hubby's filet with blueberry sauce was good. Very tender. I think this is a better place to have a drink and listen to a band. more

this is the first time i ever tried them - and i have to go back for more. the place is very cool. great people watching. the martinis are also good -- the pink monkey was my favorite. great place to hang out with a group of friends. and again, the oysters rockefeller rock! more

Great martini menu 4/30/2003

The food was good...but definitely overpriced. I went there with one other person and spent $100...and that was on one drink each an entree each and dessert that we shared. The bar area on the other hand is VERY cool, and the martini menu is really awesome. I recommend going to hang out at the bar, or have dinner on the patio if you're willing to throw down some bucks. Larry & Melissa and their crew are awesome, and the ambience is just as great! If you'd like to spend a comfortable, fun evening at a classy but not ""stuffy"" night spot in Beverly Hills, this is it! A warm atmosphere, friendly staff and clientle, and if you have the pleasure to meet Nic's owner, Larry Nicola, you'll know what I mean when I say ""fun""! Never a dull moment at Nic's - great food, great ambience - and don't forget about the hot bartenders!!! - Wide selection of martinis - I recommend the ""pink monkey"" - be sure to ask for Justin - he shakes them like no one else!!!
