Tasty Pizza 12/21/2010

Finally, I found a good pizza place in The OC. I love the pizza here, and the salads are tasty too. My mom tried some pasta dish and it wasn't the greatest, but I see people in here enjoying the pasta every time I go. The pizza is really where it's at though. And the beer on tap. ;-)\r \r Service is always friendly but not over-bearing. We go here at least twice a month. more

OMG!! JUST AS GOOD AS I REMEMBERED!!! 5/20/2008

Okay, I first went to Nick's Pizza as a college student at UC Irvine - I haven't been back since 1993 (15 years!), and it's JUST AS GOOD as I remembered - My friend brought in a slice of the BIANCA PIZZA for me to try, and it's INCREDIBLE! It has just the PERFECT combination of cheese, sauce, toppings to make it YUMMY, and the crust is very tasty as well - I've been to A LOT of pizza joints around OC, and this ranks as one of the best! :-) Pros: Yummy for your tummy! Cons: Not opened on Sundays :-( more

The Best Pizza in Town! 5/11/2007

We have been ordering at Nicks for so many years, that when I call in my regular Thursday-night pizza order (a large pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and black olive for $18.05) that they know who it is. (Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!)\r \r I can't say enough about Nick's food and service. When we dine in, a love the butternut squash pasta. \r \r The only thing that would make Nick's better is pizza delivery. Pros: Delicious Food and Friendly Service Cons: No Pizza Delivery more

Overrated at best 4/4/2007

My wife and I went to this restaurant and I am not sure why this is rated as good as it is\r My wife knows her veal marsala and she mentioned to me that it tasted like stew meat. I had to agree with her. I had their pizza and I would rather eat at round table . it was bland\r the service was matter of fact. After we complained we were given credit for one wine which is all that we had. This place has alot to be desired . more

Traditional Italian fare comes alive in Costa Mesa 1/21/2007

Having been to Italy and coming from a large Italian family (with an Italian mom who cooks every second of the day), I am a little picky when it comes to Italian food. Nicks Pizza is by far my most favorite Italian in Southern California! The atmosphere is very typical of a small family run restaurant you would find in Rome and the portions are the perfect size. When you ask for ""house red wine,"" it is actually has a nice tasting, freshly opened glass taste, as opposed to tasting like one that has been open for weeks which I seem to get a lot. I highly recommed this restaurant to anyone looking for a casual dining experience and a good plate of spaghetti or slice of pizza. We have also celebrated 2 birthdays here and the staff is more than accomodating to larger groups. The only drawback is they are closed on Sunday! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Try the Penne with Vodka sauce or the Linguine w/shrimp along with a simple glass of house red and you will be good to go! Pros: Pizza, wine and pasta Cons: Closed on Sunday more

This pizza is so good I punched myself 4/17/2006

Italy right down the street from home 2/17/2006

Gorgeous italian atmosphere... a pleasant surprise from the storefront exterior. The ingredients are so fresh. We love their sicilian style of pizza making. It's different than anything in the area and I get cravings all the time for this joint. Everything on the menu is delicious. You just can't go wrong. more

Good tasting pizza 2/10/2006

Nick's Pizza is a good tasting one with a fresh tomato sauce and premium mozzarella. I was very pleased with my order and would go back again. They have No Delivery which really stinks. Cons: No Delivery more

Best pizza in Orange county, without a doubt! 12/9/2005

One thing that sucks about Orange County is the Pizza selection. I've been searching for great pizza for a long time, and there are only a few places that are GREAT. Nick's Pizza is definitely one of those (others include Luparello's in Huntington Beach, and surprisingly, the new Napa Valley Pizza in Costa Mesa). Pros: pizza crust, tomato sauce, quality toppings Cons: no delivery more

Great Neighborhood Restaurant! 8/10/2005

This has to be my family's all time favorite Italian restaurant. And, lucky for us, it's in our neighborhood. Their pizzas are some of the best that I've tasted. It's all in the great crust! Take-out is quite popular. Make sure to pick up a to-go menu on your way out. It'll come in handy in the future. more

Best pizza on the planet 4/26/2005

Nicks pizza is by far the best pizza I have ever had, and I have tried all kinds from Chicago deep dish in Chicago to New York thin crust in New York. I challenge you to find a better pizza. The crust is absolutely perfect with nice light brown spots on the bottom and a sweet yet toasty flvor. The sauce and cheese are superior. It's just super good. more

Super Tasty 12/23/2004

Some of the best pizza ive had in California in all my 27 years on this planet. The dough is nice and filling and it tastes out of this world. The pastas are good too. A reallly nice atmosphere to eat in as well. more
