Does anyone have a good report? 4/5/2021

I had interest in buying one of Nicks Homes in Corbin, But after reading the reviews I set in shock and awl. All review are horrible concerning attention to detail. I am really set back by the review stating they are fearful of retaliation. So I want to know is there anything good about Nick from 2020 forward? more

Horrible craftsmanship. 1/11/2017

Horrible craftsmanship. Refuses to fix anything on a brand new house that's still under construction. I have picture of the craftsmanship. The house is unacceptable and will be going to court over it. Walls are out of square and plum. Vaulted ceiling is out of straightness. Windows are not flush on the inside with the walls. They filled the 3/8 in gap with caulk and painted it. Windows and door on the interior are crooked to the corners on the walls close by. The trim work on those are all level and plum but the walls are out of plum and square.( measuring from one point to the bottom of the window/door and measuring from the same point but up 7-8 foot you come up with 2 different measurements by almost an inch) there is a window in the kitchen that is about 4 foot tall. The top of the windows trim work is flush w a corner of a wall. The bottom of that same window down about 4 foot and hanging over that same wall joint by roughly 3/4 of an inch. Mostly all my cabinets are split from them screwing the crown molding on. Tile not underneath the cabinets like I had asked for it to be. They installed the cabinets before the flooring got there because he didn't want to wait for it to get there. They didn't "guess" right on how thick the tile would be once it arrived so that it would slide under the cabinets once they installed the flooring. Nothing is under the cabinets to help support the weight. They also "guessed" on the height for the baseboards also. Which were installed before the tile was. The tile arrived and they ran the tile short of the baseboards and then added shoe mold. Which I was adamant about not wanting way before the tile was even ordered. The shoe mold had corners where on both sides of one door they had a cut of a 90 degree and the other side of the same door was a 45degree cut. I told him when they roughed in the plumbing that I wanted a tub in the master with a side center drain. Where they had it roughed in was obviously not even close to where it needed to be. They poured the concrete anyway and he said they'll just saw cuz it and move the drain. On a brand new slab now will have a patch job. Baseboards we coped on some joints and cut on a 45 degree on some corners. The coping job looked like a hack job. They filled all the voids with caulk and painted over them. There is cracked trim work up along a door frame( probably about a 6-8 inch long crack) they filled that also with either puddy or caulk and painted over it as well. Electricians wouldn't center any lights or outlets. I had to have them move a few lights so that they were centered. I also had to lay and measure for myself where the centers were. Electricians said they don't add studs to center up the outlets under windows. Nick told me the house was built by humans not robots. If the house was built by robots then it would be worth 10,000,000 dollars. It's also made of brick, mortar and wood. He's making excuses for the poor craftsmanship. I understand bows in wood, but that has nothing to do with where the human anchors a joint to make it square or plum. I have pictures of things being out of square and plum by about an inch within 7-8 foot. The vaulted ceiling is out atleast and inch within 6 foot. Also, told me he was going to charge me more money to paint my trim work because I chose another color besides white. In the contract it says "painted trim work". Nick told me that he was tired of my "nitpicking ......." Also, he locked me out of the house after I started complaining and sent him all the photos I took of the poorly built house. more

Poor build quality, homes fail inspections 12/6/2016

I purcahsed a home built by peth, huge mistake! Interior wood trim used as exterior trim, rotted in 1 year, tiles cracked, cheap quality everything. New homes built by him routinely fail inspection, latest failed inspection resulted in new roofs for several of his homes. He is very rude and arrogant, I gave him the opportunity to fix the issues and he said "sue me" more

NICK- is a piece of work..... 12/1/2016

arrogant, rude, argumentative - - - no, i haven't had a house built by him, but he hasn't changed in 40 years.............. more

No Supervision 4/25/2016

I have a Peth built home and I am certainly sorry I chose him as my builder. He has no supervisor for his construction and rarely visits the construction site. His follow up is terrible. Mistakes made in the construction of my home were were not compensated, and his attitude was take it or leave it. He is dishonest and arrogant. more

Poor work 11/13/2015

Am finding many short cuts that were taken in my home build by Peth. Interior wood trim used as exterior trim! No priming done. Interior paint very sloppy. Gaps under eaves. Gutters leak. Concrete drive and patio chipping away after only 4 years. Am afraid the the poor work will really come back to bite as these homes age. more

Peth's Poor Business Practices 6/1/2015

Nick Peth is the developer for the Furnas Forge area in Waynesville, OH. Recently, Peth has taken to sending threatening letters to home owners with respect to cars parked on the streets, small recreational items in home owners' own driveways, etc. In each instance, the home was neat, clean and well maintained, nothing was unsightly at all. True, he is able to fall back on a covenant that he himself wrote years ago when the area was in early development. Then, he chose to make lots very small (more lots, more $) which allowed no flexibility for owners with respect to storing items, building sheds and additions. Now, 15 years later, Peth is threatening responsible home owners with legal action instead of working with owners in a positive fashion. What a great guy. My name is not included for fear of retaliation. Buyer beware! more
