I was referred to Dr. Metzger by my dentist to have a tooth removed-and was charged $100 just to have the 5 minute consultation with him. They never informed me that the visit was only a consultation and not the appt. to have the surgery either!
When I did go back to have the teeth removed, they sent us a letter saying that the anesthesia was not covered but when I called my insurance-they said if the dr. said it was necessary (which he had) then it was covered. The billing person was very rude to my husband when we asked why they said it wasn't covered if it was. They made us pay over $200 and then wrote a letter to the insurance company not saying it was necessary so we are stuck with that bill. I would not recommend this oral surgeon to anyone. I like Dr. Metzger himself although he was a bit aloof when I tried talking to him about the issue.
