great Pho 3/9/2008

very good authentic VN food at a good price with good service. you can't go wrong here. The most authentic Bun Bo Hue outside of Hue or Saigon. waiters are friendly and helpfull with assisting you on your decision. possibly best Pho in the city. Pros: friendly waiters Cons: tuff to find a park more

Fast, authentic and affordable Vietnamese 5/23/2007

My honey introduced me to this spot about a year and a half ago. I had never had Vietnamese food before but was very pleasantly surprised. Nha Trang is probably the restaurant i have visited the most in the past year. We go at least twice a month. It's very conveniently located. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgable and after a couple visits they will remember what you like to eat. I find that the portions are a little small as I'm always hungry about 4 or 5 hours later. They will give you a lot of rice but skimp on the protein though I suppose the flavor makes up for it. I love the steak with fried rice. I always get an order of fried spring rolls wrapped in fresh lettuce. The accompanying dressing is delicious over everything else besides the spring rolls too! I've had the salt and pepper shrimp and was very pleased. Beef cubes and rice are good, and the soups are very filling and healthy. Grilled chicken with rice is satisfying as well. I don't eat pork so i can't personally testify but every time i go there i notice a lot of people eating the pork chops on the bone and they seem to really enjoy them. Don't forget the sweet ice tea! Pros: Consistent quality, fresh food, great prices, location Cons: Decor, noise more

Very Authentic, Excellent Value 3/19/2007

My husband and I live in Chicago. We stumbled up on this restaurant during a weekend trip to NY. We like it so much we always come back every time we're in town. I'm Vietnamese, so I know how Vietnamese food should taste. Every dish I've tried here is awsome. We love this place :-) Pros: Authentic, low price more

Great food at affordable prices and fast fast service 12/3/2006

I spotted this place with my boyfriend while i was at a malaysian restaurant across the street 2 years ago. I tried it once and have been going back there consistently ever since. The food is great, service is quick and the prices are cheap! you can't beat that at all. I love their summer rolls and pho. The flavor is great! I always get seated right away. Pros: fast service, cheap eats, great food more

inexpensive pho 5/15/2006

ive been here a couple times before and found their food to be fast, cheap, and consistent. my friends and i came here on friday night for dinner and our food came within 5 minutes of ordering. theres almost always a wait for a table, but the turnover is really quick, so ive never had to wait for long. the pho broth is standard and not very flavourful, but the hot soupy beefy noodles are comforting on chilly nights. the slices of beef are tender, and while the restaurant is heavy-handed on the noodles, they tend to skimp on the meats. the cold fresh vermicelli with shrimp & peanut sauce is a cooler & lighter alternative for hot summer nights. overall, a good place to go if youre in a hurry and not looking to spend more than $8 (including tax + tip). Pros: cheap, fast, consistent Cons: rushed service, some wait more

Yumz 4/13/2006

I've been eating here for 13 years. Food is consistent. Been ordering L18 (chicken w/ lemongrass over rice) forever. Try the garlic fried squid. It's tasty! Top it w/ the green bean drink. Pros: food, value more

Clear pho stock and lots of herbs! 5/23/2005

Finally, a place where the pho isn't greasy! I had pho suon nuong (pork chop noodle soup), and the stock was nice and clear ($4.50!). They gave us plenty of herbs, too. However, the pork chop was a bit tough, and the steamed omelet that came with the com bi suon nuong was pretty small. Pros: good value, fast service more

great dishes 3/15/2005

I have been there so many times...feels like home. The waiters are all fast and helpfull. Sometimes the main dishes will arrive before the appetizers, but doesn't really matter! The service is very fast. The most delicious dishes for me? Crispy squid, shrimp with black mushrooms in salt and pepper sauce and the beef with watercress and with oyster sauce. I'm actually going right now!...byeeee!!! more

OK summer rolls 2/5/2005

I was dying for a good summer roll with peanut sauce. I decided to do takeout and had 2 orders of summer rolls. 4 in all. They were average size. Food was prepared very fast. As for the taste of the roll I have had better. It was good and satisfied my craving but nothing amazing. Total was $7.00 which was somewhat reasonable. Restaurant was very busy when I arrived. more

Mmmm.... 9/9/2004

I was at this restaurant actually a few months back, but since I am back in the city, I will definitely go to this place again! I was there with a couple of friends and upon getting a seat, the waiter immediately went about creating a dinner for us. Great service, great food! Pros: Good service, Food is Great more

Just like Noi's (Grandma's) Cooking 4/2/2003

Amazingly good food that is just like my grandmother's cooking! Try the pho, fried eggrolls and barbecue red snapper. Only disappointment is that the rice is not served in a bowl. This is as authentic as it gets!!!!! Bon appetite! Pros: Authentic, Inexpensive, Friendly Cons: No Reservations more
