Newton Auto Driving School

Two years ago, my older son was getting his license, we checked these guys out, but their office in Newton Center was plain scary. Now it's the little one's turn and I just saw these guys' ad in the Newton South paper advertising a new location. They're even closer now. We had to stop by and check it out. It looked really well done and professional. We signed James up for a weeklong session. He says he enjoyed the class and learned a lot from Jerry. Scheduling driving hasn't been a problem yet. STAY AWAY!!!! This place should be shut down. The classes my daughter took were terrible and disorganized. One time the RMV caught them showing a movie to the kids instead of teaching anything, and the students had to stay another hour or two. When you try to book driving hours, they never call back. We signed up for the driving test with them, and they had everybody show up at once at Newton South. Had to wait well over two hours. The man from the school was a complete jerk and obviously couldn't have cared less. Only upside was a good driving instructor who actually seems to have taught my daughter something. Passed the drivng test after the first time, learned how to drive, the classrooms were relaxed but we still learned the material. Pros: Taught material well, flexible driving times, pick you up anywhere more

These people should not be in business. Communicating with them on the phone is difficult as it is because it's hard to understand what they are saying with all the distractions and background noise. But ones you get past that and actually schedule your appointment, they will not show up! Cons: Terrible service, they do not care, and make it seem like it's your fault. more

A total joke! There is no set program for the classroom. My son had repeats of the same lesson a few times. There was no way of knowing if he missed certain topics. On the cards where times are recorded for observation and driving, the numbers are grossly inaccurate. There is a great deal of cheating. Just today, my son was gone one hour, yet the instructor recorded an hour for driving plus an hour of observation. In every single entry so far, the time has been inflated. Additionally, the instructors' English language proficiency is rudimentary at best. This is my child's life, we are talking about. Needless, to say I will not let them get away with this. The school provided a very convenient service for my son. The instructor picked him up, drove him back home, was flexible on time. The school organized a driving test for group of its students, which went very smoothly, and my son passed effortlessly on his firs try. Highly recommended. Pros: very convenient service more
