I took my hdtv to the shop. Bill (head guy) said he would look it over. Called me back an hour later said the power supply board had gone wrong and that ""I was in luck"" and that he ""happen to have one in stock."" (Later found out extremely unlike for a shop of his size to have that board in stock, parts supplire for LG said typically shop like that would order it and have shipped next day) Bill had the tv fixed in less than 24 hours at a cost of $200 to me. I was really happy it was fixed.
Prior to me taking the tv their, I read many reviews on the red blinking light and what causes it to happen on tv's. Either a fuse or pwr supply board typically. So I took my TV apart, checked it out, took a picture of the pwr supply board with serial numbers. Then took it to Newport TV VCR REPAIR shop.
When I got the tv back, I open it up, and sure enough, the same power supply board with the same serial numbers. I called LG to confirm serial numbers and they verified. Bill or Buu depending on when you talk to him and if he wants to understand English, ripped me off for $200 out the door when it seems like all he did was replace a fuse. TV works fine, he scammed me thinking I wouldn't open the back of a tv or have photos, along with the full support of LG.
I will never go back again and strongly advise anyone else to be careful, if they dare to roll the dice there. Do document your products, mark them, and don't let Bill scam you. Little does Bill know, I stopped payment on CC and filled fraudulent charges against him. He replaced what seems like $1 part and billed me upwards of $200...
When Bill was confronted with empirical evidence showing he didn't replace the power supply board I paid him to replace with the new I purchased from him, he lied, squandered, and then attacked me. He is very unprofessional and likes to cut corners to make a buck.
I strongly suggest going else where to get good service and quality. It will save you from a nightmare repair.
Pros: fast for a reason...charged me for repair he never made
Cons: Ripped me off on a Power supply board
