So heres the scoop as I see it on the Newport Bluffs Apts ...Great location, round the corner from the 73 for quick access to the business person on the go to either LA or SD depending on the day...Attractive buildings, and the up keeping grounds are quite good...the maintenance people friendly , professional and helpful...so when we moved here from out of state 4 plus years ago, the sales line was....""we are going to be upgrading all the units especially the town homes, with granite countertops and upgrade flooring,"" ...did i mention that was 4 plus years ago!! Nada on the upgrade intentions, After 4 plus years here on a stop to home ownership before the ecomony went south...and over $100,000 in rent paid to the Bluffs, when we were for the first time late on the total amount due...we were already receiving a barrage of 'friendly reminders, and phone calls regarding our impending eviction"" not only that but also a requirement that we pay the remaining $300 due with secured money order funds...after ONE week being late. Now Im all about keeping a commitment and meeting expectations, but its not because we didn't call ahead of time and request that if possible we could pay the balance within the next 5 business days. Did I mention the main drag that directs traffic through the center of the complex that people neither feel obligated to pause at the stop signs, or that the speed limit doesn't apply to them. Yes the pool area is very nice, and the only time we ever had a couple people over to enjoy it with us, we were cautioned as to number of individuals appropriate to bring along. After 4.5 years and $100,000, is it too much to ask to have 5 people for one afternoon enjoying ""our place""..The construction noise, between bulldozers, and cranes .. has become pretty intense. Maybe a nice ""thank you for your long term and continued support in renting here"", gesture would be extending one months free rent to a long timer...after 4.5 years patronage...and... yes still waiting for the upgrade!
