newbridge college is a sham the career staff are lazy and donot provide job placement assistance like they claim to do. while i was a pharmacy technician student my instructor was fired after 6 months of myself being enrolled. then my so called career services person was also fired (tasi) . thats no surprise i had to find my own exernsite because he was too lazy to get one for me.. i had a few weeks until i graduated and still had no idea where my extern was going to be.... i did get hired from my extern site only to be let go because they wanted free labor which was cheaper....... i would strongly suggest going to another college you will definately be sorry for attending this one....... more

waste of money 8/1/2011

I graduated from the Pharmacy Technician program in February. The day before I went on my externship my instructor was fired without notice. The instructor who replaced him was/is the head of pharmacy at the school and he messed up my license application(Mr. Martinez). I waited months after I graduated to even receive notice that my application was submitted saying that I had not received my high school diploma. OF COURSE I graduated high school. I wouldn't have been able to take the course if I hadn't. I had to fix it on my own. After all this, I still haven't found a job. I've searched mostly on my own. One of the two leads I received from the school ended up being a complete failure. I was set up with a job that I wasn't qualified for and was let go the day before I was supposed to start due to my age. The employer specifically asked for techs that were 21+. I don't believe that my attitude had anything to do with my experience at Newbridge College/VCC. I had a positive attitude through the whole thing and dealt with the issues as they came to me (and oh boy did they come). I could go on and on about all the things the faculty and the school did to make my time harder. The main thing I would like to say is I would not recommend this school for most people. The overall look and supplies of the school may have improved since switching over to Newbridge from Valley Career College, but the heart is gone. They used to truly care about the students, now it's all about the money. I went into the school expecting to find the career of my dreams- I got nothing but a reality check. If you don't get a job on your externship or have someone lined up to give you a job after your training, it's pointless. Be careful about that as well. I was told that my externship site was hiring but it turned out they just wanted a month of free labor. more
