Meet the Mets, Meet the Mets 8/18/2005

It takes heart to be a Mets fan. Shea Stadium is, well, a behemoth. It's old, it's concrete, and it's ugly. But it's a fun experience. The food is ridiculously expensive, the airliners passing behind the stadium are loud and annoying, and the stadium feels as comfortable as anything else built in the 1960s. But the Mets are the Mets, and you should step right up and meet the Mets. more

Mets 8/17/2005

The Mets have been around since nineteen sixty four. They replaced the brooklyn dodgers. The team struggles but they try. The mets have won two world series championships. But now they might come back they picked up Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran. The mets are an ok team in the national league team but they try. They try to be the best. more

The Mets Stink But They Try 8/17/2005

The Mets are a team that struggle in the national league. I am not a met fan. But the mets are struggling and trying. They have Pedro Martinez and Carlos Beltran. They even tried to get Manny Ramirez to come to the mets. Also they have former yankee first base coach Willie Randolph as as a coach. more

Fun to See 8/17/2005

Much better place to see a game than Yankee Stadium. Of course anybody can buy the best players and inflate a payroll to the most in sports history but what fun is that? Go see a team that is young and exciting, warts and all. Shea is a great place to watch a game and certainly safer than the eare surrounding Yankee Stadium. more

Meet the Mets, meet the Mets, step right up and greet the Mets! 8/9/2005

The New York Mets, a baseball club in the National League, located in Flushing, Queens, is a mixed bag, much like the team itself. The New York Mets have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, but they are never boring. Shea Stadium, their home since 1964, is an outdated venue, but makes you feel oddly home. The food and drinks are WAY overpriced and could be better, but you're watching the New York Mets. The team, whether bad or great, is always exciting, and when it's rocking, you're rocking. The stadium will most likely be replaced in 2009 or later, but it might not be missed. The most desirable features, such as the Big Apple in the outfield, will most likely be brought to the new stadium. It may not be the best in the majors, but it has its charms. I would recommend going to meet the Mets! more

New York Mets 8/5/2005

OK, so the Mets stink. That still does not mean they are not worth watching. Carlos Beltran alone makes them worthwhile. In addition, how can you go to New York City and not catch a Mets game. You can take a train from Manhattan and the area is not nearly as bad as the Bronx. A must do when you are in New York. more
