I was a former student of NYIB and would like to share my experience with anyone who is considering beauty school. If your truly serious about entering this field and want to receive quality training in the industry, I would not recommend this school as your choice. Starting from the top, the director and head office staff does not seem to take problematic issues that are reported from students very serious. They do not enforce school conduct of students, such as petty or disruptive matter from certain elements of students who engage in ""catty old school girl day behavior"". The teachers teaching certain programs are not licensed themselves. Situations where a teacher and student(s) go shopping on break time and leave the rest of the class waiting for 40 minutes-teacher fratenizing. Teacher leading students to reprimand other students, and lack of teacher direction at times. Certain students receive preferential treatment regarding loss of hours. The school seems to be more interested in signing you up and then basically losing touch with supporting each of their students.
Pros: Clinic
Cons: lack of teacher leadership in clinic, quality teachers
