Every time I visit the Detroit area I head to Ferndale to get 3 to 4 dozen assorted bagels to take back to Kansas and share with friends and family. There is nothing like a hot, fresh bagel and these bagels from New York Bagel are the best. Of course since I drive to Detroit when I visit I usually fewer bagels by the time I get back to Kansas. Pros: Fresh and Hot Cons: Long lines more

Currently living in New York, these bagels have still shown they're worthy of the name. The bagels are always warm and fresh which is a plus. The cream cheese is amazing - the veggie cream cheese is crunchy and everything. Everytime I visit my parents, I go to New York bagel for a tasty treat. The Detroiter sandwich is also very good as well as their soups. You're missing out if you pass it up. Pros: view bagel making, cheap, great food Cons: long lines in the am more

The Best Bagels in the Area 10/6/2005

For people who like real bagels--chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside, warm and toasty bagels---and not those strange loaves of bread called bagels at chain establishments we don't need to mention, this is the spot.
