Very pleased with the experience we had at New Horizons in Carmel. We recently sent 31 of our employees to a basic computer skills class to learn more about Outlook and Excel. The class room environment was great - wonderful instructors - great facility and friendly people - allowed us to pick our own class room agenda to suit our needs - good money spent. more

In 2009 my husband signed up for Microsoft certification courses at Ne Horizons. At the time, we spoke to an african american sales person who promised us short of a miracle, long story short we asked if we were to stop taking courses because of life change (job, kids, schedule, etc.) would he still be allowed to come back at any time to finish his ceritifications. He ASSURED us that the contract was open as long as he had not completed his courses. My husband returned in 2011, and was told that the contract was only good for a year. $9,000 down the drain...thanks to a lie!! Go to a real university unless your job is paying for your cetification!!! BEWARE!! more

I recently attended this school for IT and I was not pleased at all! First of all they do not give you any hands on training and as all computer people know computers is mainly hands on learning. Secondly, they do not help you prepare for the certification exam. The exam I took for my A+ was nothing like the practice exams or what I read in the book. Well at least they did not try to assist me with proper test preparation. Finally, I truly believe that New Horizons at this particular location is very racist!! At least that is the impression that I got!! For example, they just recently upgraded their Transcender practice exams to Windows 7 in February of this year, however I had just received my copy of these practice exams at the end of April of this year of 2011 and I was scheduled to take my exam on May 3 which was yesterday kind of see where I am going with this seems like they were conspiring to purposely set me up for failure!! I would not advise anyone to attend this school be aware!! more

I purchased my HCIM certification July 08. So far I have come to know the staff, instructors and sales staff pretty well. My program is going to be finished Feb 09 and I have worked with their job staff in securing a part-time position with Clarion Hospitals. Not great money but enough to get by with. After I finish my certification program, I will be in the job market big time, so wish me luck. I know the team at New Horizons CLC of Indianapolis will be there for me, when the time comes! If your going there for strictly computer learning then you may fare well, but if you attend New Horizons for the Medical-Health Information Management program...BEWARE! I just finished all of my courses there and believe me it was a fight until the end. They didn't want to honor the contracts that some of us students signed. Our classes were postponed constantly due to staff quiting, can't say I blame them. They only had one teacher who was knowledgeable in Medical Terminology & Anatomy, Medical Billing and Coding and CPT-Coding. She left though in April/May of 2008 and that was really when the program suffered because the teachers that were left didn't know squat...good thing I already had experience in this field and was only going to receive the certifications, because other students weren't so lucky. The ones that had decided to have this as a career and chose New Horizons for their first time training found themselves not being able to obtain their certifications because they didn't know enough and alot of that was due to the training received from New Horizons teachers or shall I say lack of teachers...the smart ones left! more
