A short trip down memory lane 12/28/2005

This is a steam train ride from New Hope to Lahaska and back. The total time for this trip is a bit under an hour. There is nice scenery, the New Hope station is lovely, but it is a bit pricy for such a short trip. The Railroad does offer seasonal events, like the Christimas train, or you can rent the train for a special event. While it may be cool for railroad enthusiasts, it was a short ride in the country. Nice, but an experience I will only do once. more

Something to do once 6/24/2005

The New Hope & Ivyland railroad is a historic steam train. The inside is restored to look as it did in the 1920's. The train takes you on a short ride, back and forth. There was actually a movie filmed there in 1914 called "Perils of Pauline." You also see a house where Art Garfunkel once lived. Sometimes on holidays they have special dining car rides. Tickets for regular rides cost around $11, which I think is rather steep for such a short ride. I would suggest doing it once, though. more
