I discovered that I had a dead animal in my chimney, which was causing the house to smell. I called several chimney sweeps in the area and got answering machines. I called New England Chimney, at 9PM, and spoke to a person (Heidi?) who was able to give me an rough estimate on the spot! While she wasn't able to give me a definite appointment (because heavy rain was expected the next day), she was able to promise a call back the next day from the guys who might actually do the work. \r \r The next day, at the time promised, I got a call back from Henry. We firmed up the price ($150 for animal removal and a chimney cleaning) and set a time. They were able to do the work during my lunch period, so I didn't miss any work. They arrived on time, were professional, removed two dead squirrels that had been blocking the vent and cleaned the chimney, all in about an hour.\r \r I'm glad I found them! more

I spent $80 for an inspection that consisted of shining a flashlight up the chimney and $40 for a 15 minute cleaning. The bill had ""satisfactory"" checked for chimney cap, spark arrestor, crown/ wash, brickwork. I asked if he had actually climbed up on the snowless roof to inspect it (or used binoculars) and he said no because he had a problem with the bottom of his workboots! more

I have used New England Chimney for 3 years now. Prior to that, i had 2 or 3 others. New england chimney, is very thorough......Mike makes sure the house is kept clean and the job is done right the first time. any problems....he always seems to be right there .
