I just witnessed an ecounter while in the waiting room of New England Cat Care that I felt it important to post a preemptive review. Let me start by saying that New England Cat care is THE BEST cat veterinarian. They have taken care of 5 of my cats over the last 13 years and I truly believe that my kitties would not have lived as long and healthy a life had they not gone to this veterinarian. I had seen a number of vets prior to bringing them here and NO ONE ever gave my cats full phsical exams before. They looked in my cats' mouth, between his toes and everywhere in between. They saw a mouth cancer growing that no other vet found because they were afraid to go near my cat's mouth! The staff is excellent. Danielle is amazing and incredably helpful. Bottom line - Don't take your cats anywhere else.\r \r Now, to what promted me to write this post. A gentleman came in to pick-up his kitties that were to be shaved that day. In overhearing the conversation (who couldn't, the guy was yelling) I found that Danielle was unable to complete his cat's grooming because that cat wouldn't sit still while the grooming shears were near. She was afraid that the cat or the staff might get hurt. She had recommended sedating the kitty so that she could finish the job if that's what the owner's wanted. Apparently, this man was outraged that he did not know what his visit would cost which, as I understand, also included the yearly checkup and whatever shots. (It seems Danielle had spoken with this guy's wife earlier about money). Danielle was very professional when dealing with an irate customer. I have known Danielle for over 5 years and I know she is very thorough in explaining things, including prices, to people. It all seemed like a miscommunication about prices to me, but the man stormed otu saying he was going to post bad things about my vet on the internet. No one posts bad things about my vet without me standing up for them.\r Is New ENgland Cat Care an inexpensive place to bring your cats? No. Do they have skill, training, compassion and friendlness all in one so that your cat will remain healthy as long as possible. YES! GO THERE! \r Pros: Friendly, compasionate, skilled, Good samrt people! more

DO NOT listen to miabellamiabella. When I moved to CT from NY I never thought I would be able to replace my vet. After coming to New England Cat Care I realized how much my other vet was missing. Danielle is so nice at the front desk and knows a lot about cats! The place looks like my living room when you walk in and there are no smells. My cat never had such a thorough exam. No other vet looked in her mouth or took her temperature! My cat was considered ""fractious"" by my old vet and needed to be sedated to be looked at. Lulu was so calm with Dr. RIchter - she loved him. It turned out she had an infected tooth. Who knows how long that was going on! Miabellamiabella, maybe you should have reviewed Dr. DeForge! Pros: Knowledgeable, clean, friendly, never rushed Cons: You need time for the visit - they don't rush you in and out more

\r We never took our cat here but heard good things about them. Because their after hours machine recommended Silver Sands vet we went there and had a horrendous experince. Donald DeForge advertises that he is a dental specialist and HE IS NOT and never has been!!!!! We wishNew England Cat Care had done their research on this man before they recommended him to anyone! The waiting room looks like a living room and doesn't SMELL. The people are very nice and spend a ton of time with you and your cat. My cat never had such a great exam and was calm through the whole thing. They had an emergency so I had to wait an extra 15 minutes or so and they gave me a free bag of food for my patience. Pros: Clean, friendly, not in a rush, thorough, A+++ service Cons: No weekend hours more
