I've been coming here for years. It's one of the best Chinese buffets in Atlanta - bar none. It's a pity, but I heard rumors of them closing during the last time I was there :( Pros: Great Staff, Best food selection, Awesome price Cons: they might be closing more

Recently dropped their dinner prices 1/3/2010

This is a good place. I have eaten at ALLOT of buffets in Atlanta. Chinese buffets in particular. Most do nothing for me and I rarely visit any of them for more than a few times. I have been going to this places steadily for about 4 or so years. The food is good and important to me no MSG. Also they just dropped their dinner prices to $6.98 so that helps keep me coming back. Course it is making it hard for me to keep the weight off that I have lost recently. Pros: Good food. Fresh. No MSGs. Cons: Makes it hard for me to loose weight more

Best Chinese in Decatur/Emory area 8/8/2009

Been going here for years, love it! The food is fresh and prepared well. The staff is friendly and helpful. Your glass is never empty. The food is always consistent. Very family friendly; they even have a play room for the little ones. Check with them ahead of time for special holiday buffetts: Chinese New Year Mother's Day & Father's Day Christmas Dinner Buffet (Seriously, don't miss this one!) New Year's Day Pros: Fresh, friendly, consistent. Excellent seafood. more

Average food, average prices 12/5/2008

The food was ok - nothing especially wonderful, nothing especially awful. Just your average Chinese food. The fried rice completely lacked flavor. I'm used to egg drop soup that only has broth and ribbons of egg whites in it - no other pieces of anything. This place puts bits of vegetables in the soup, which I did not like at all. more

This is a great place to go for a meal. I used to eat a several Chinese restaurants in Atlanta. now that number is down to 2. This place is my favorite. The food here is the best. I have been eating here usually once a week (well sometimes more) for about 3 years or more. Food has never been greasy. The meat and vegetables are fresh. The hostesses are always polite and prompt. Overall a great place for lunch or dinner. My mother ate here for the first time last week. Her first time trying anything other than regular southern cooking. She LOVED it there. she especially loved their chicken wings. She told me from now on when her and Dad come up to visit, this is our new regular restaurant! Pros: Great service. The food is fresh. You feel lik eyou can relax while you eat. Cons: Can't think of one. more

The best Chinese buffet in the Atlanta area, in my opinion. The food is always fresh, and they feature more vegetables and seafood than the typical buffet. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and personable. more

Great Food and Service 7/31/2008

My family and I went one (1) hour before closing and the food was still hot and fresh. The server was friendly. The owner had lots of personality and was teaching some of the patrons her native language. It's a great place and I am sad that I am moving to Texas. Pros: Everything was great Cons: Im leaving Georgia to move back to Texas and wont be able to each there anymore more

I had lived by this place for years, before going in. Once I went, I've kept going back. Good food, very friendly service, and nice prices. Much better than the standard Asian buffet. Pros: Tasty food, friendly service, good value, next to a great Ace Hardware Cons: I'd get fat if I ate there too often. more

Great Chinese and Thai/Malaysian Food 6/13/2008

When I first went in here I was afraid that buffet would serve up the same old fried 'everything' . Not the case. In fact the opposite is true. They have a wide range of choices that includes shrimp, salmon, sushi and a yummy steamed sole. The food it great and the service is AWESOME! They are the friendliest group of folks you'd ever want to encounter. When I go here, I feel like Norm going to Cheers! The folks here take the time to get to know you and even your food preferences. Pretty amazing nowadays. Also, unlike many buffet-style restaurants, this place also has a regular menu. My suggestion: Try something off the Thai/Malaysian menu. Really good and a great bargain compared to many of the restaurants specializing in these cuisines. more

Authentic Delight in a Dubious Package 4/5/2008

I know it looks like it should have cheap greasy chinese food, but in fact New Century Buffet serves up tasty, authentic chinese dishes. The staff is adorable (especially if you speak any chinese) and attentive. The food is still americanized, but not as greasy as most chinese restaurants (and is a far step above Panda Express) - order off the menu instead of the buffet, and make sure to try the potstickers, as they are to die for. Pros: Great food and service more

Didn't like the food 11/24/2007

I went to this place based on the 5-star reviews I saw and was disappointed. All the food was very greasy. I can pack it down at an all-you-can-eat buffet, but I didn't even go up for a second plate at this place. My boyfriend and I felt the same way. Didn't feel good after eating and we don't plan to go there again. We might just be sensitive to greasy food. We tend to eat (fairly) healthy. I just wanted to let folks know about our experience, since most reviews I saw had high ratings and it was not at all our experience. Have to give the staff credit - they were very, very friendly. more

Best Chinese in the South -- and at a Buffet! 11/4/2007

Not since I used to frequent a little place on Washington and Kearny at the edge of Chinatown (San Francisco) have I found garlic eggplant as delicious as at New Century. But don't stop with the eggplant at this quiet, extremely friendly buffet on Scott Boulevard. In two visits, I've had two incarnations of hot and sour soup: one with the expected vinegar kick and a bit of pepper and one with sinus clearing properties; both were outstanding! Don't overlook the siu my (under a steamer marked "dim sum") and add a bit of the sauce sitting next to it. This is the only buffet where I've even been tempted by the seafood and several of the shrimp dishes are good. I haven't tried the sushi, and probably won't, because the hot dishes are just that good. After living in the South for three years and mourning the loss of my favorites from the West Coast, I feel I've finally found Chinese food worth eating (and I've tried many other places). I'll be back, and back, and back! Pros: Food, staff, cleanliness Cons: None that I could find. more

Best Spicy Food 10/12/2007

clee02 Provided by Partner
I love the authentic Chinese food, spicy Southeaster Asian cuisines and Japanese sushi. Personally, I started with the steam fishes, Tofu dishes and vegetables, then, expanded my taste into spicy Chinese and Southeaster Asian dishes. Every time I come here, I found some new dishes. Frequently, I just over-ate because it was very difficult not to try a little bit of everything. I haven't been disappointed by any unpleasant surprises yet. Talking about the cleanness of this restaurant. Most, if not all, of the nearby Dekalb County restaurant inspectors come here to have lunch here. Last but not the least; you will find that the fast service is always SUPERB! more

Fine, fresh, imaginative, clean 6/28/2006

I have eaten in this restaurant more than thirty five times. There are many other excellent choices no further or more expensive, and in general I love variety. But the food at the Century 21 is superb. It easily outshines the many other chinese buffets I have tried and most alacarte retaurants. Steamed halibut will make you cry, the Ma Bo tofu is a reward to your insides; the vegetables are fresh; the garlic eggplant alone is worth the trip.. Everything is clean and hot and fresh and tasty. I am puzzled that the reviewer above was disatisfied, but in truth my wife and I went once at supper and found it merely mediocre. Thirty four superb lunches and one lackluster dinner. Go figure. Pros: Variety, Spices, Ingredient quality Cons: Overeating all too easy more

Just another bad Chinese Buffet 4/19/2006

I was hoping that New Century would be different from the vast majority of Chinese Buffets in Atlanta... it was not. We went at 6:30 PM hoping that it would be the peak of the dinner rush and the food would be hot and fresh. It was not. Most everything was cold, and had been sitting for some time. My first and last visit to this restaurant. more

The food is good, but I don't think the types of the food is enough for me. Some dish are good, but some aren't. There is an ice cream machine, so if you like ice cream, that would be a plus. The service is good though. oh, i almost forgot, the hot sour soup is very good, don't forget to taste it! more
