Amanda did a fantastic job! I found New Art salon through a Groupon, and saw Amanda. Her haircut worked really well with my wavy, thick hair, and she cut very cute bangs. I also received a deep conditioning treatment that made my coarse hair soft and silky. more

Traveled 4 Hours and would travel more for this cut! 5/7/2012

Anytime I'm in St Paul I call Peter at New Art Salon to see if he can squeeze me in!! I travel all the way from Sioux Falls SD to sit in Peters chair. He's always accommodating and I am NEVER disappointed! He works his cutting and jzujzzing magic to add depth and interest to a once boring head of hair. I Can Stop Looking!!!! 4/15/2012

I have received so many compliments on my color and cut that Amanda gave at my first appointment. I have tried many stylists at very expensive salons and I was amazed that she could style my wavy, colicky, short hair and color/foil it in ways I didn't think possible. I have had younger people I work with, come up to me and say that I look really nice, which is a great compliment!! I will look no further!!! Amanda is an excellent stylist/colorist. more

Amanda is great! 4/5/2012

I recently saw Amanda for a foil, cut and eyebrow wax. She was super friendly and upbeat. I knew my hair needed an update, but wasn't sure what to do and she had great recommendations! The colors she chose for my foil were perfect and it turned out beautiful. She also did a fantastic job on my eyebrows. Amanda took her time and did a really good job- I didn't feel rushed. It was a great experience! I will definitely be making another appointment with Amanda in the future! more

I saw Amanda for a partial foil and haircut through a groupon now promotion. She did a great job knowing that I wanted a slight change in color and that I needed a trim but wanted to keep my overall length. Amanda was upbeat, attentive and skilled at what she does. I will for sure go back! more

Best haircuts I have ever had 2/17/2012

If you have ever felt like you are tired of the same-o in hair, tired of trying to find that right haircut and/or the right stylist....try Peter G. at New Art Salon! He will look at YOUR hair, start working like he is carving out your own style...when it's done it may look pretty simple, but it's the first time in my life I have ever had so many people compliment me...sometimes they aren't sure what is different but love my haircut. Prices are super reasonable and location is easy....scheduling is fast. I have really, fine, straight, thick hair....really hard to cut and style...but Peter has always done something, fresh, cute and easy to do everyday! He is the one to try if you're tired of the ""hit or miss"" with your hair! more

My roommate bought a Groupon to go see Amanda for a cut and color and she loved everything about her experience, so I decided to give her a try as well. She knew EXACTLY what my hair needed! I have naturally curly hair (well, frizzy, kinky hair that I straighten daily to tame) that is pretty fine and also pretty short. I've been trying to grow it out for years, but every time it grows, I end up having a stylist chop it all off. Amanda gave me some great advice on why my hair wasn't growing past a certain point, and then she proceeded to help me identify a cut that would look great in the short term, but would also allow me to grow it out. I'm so happy with my experience - I'll never go anywhere else! Oh, and I was looking for a good place to get a Brazillian Blowout, but I'm pretty hesitant to trust just any stylist. The owner actually offered to ask around with some of his contacts to find someone who specializes in fine hair.... seriously, best salon ever!! more

Beautiful, NATURAL looking gel nails 1/25/2012

I have gotten shellac nails elsewhere in the past and loved their durability only to have them come off in sheets a week later because they were applied so thick and gloppy. So I decided to try Leigh's Gellish nails....absolutely beautiful! 3 weeks later my nails are still chip free. I am the first to admit that I am horrible at nail upkeep. These have been effortless, durable, and what I love most...not damaging to my natural nails. Not only are the nails great, but her pedicures are HEAVENLY. Seriously, the girl has magic hands. Her leg and foot massage was out of this world. She didn't rush through it like other places tend to do. Did I mention how funny and personable she is? Can't wait to go back, a visit with Leigh is a much needed break from the rest of the world. more

What a great experience getting my hair cut and colored at New Art Salon with Peter G! Such a friendly ,fun atmosphere with a professional guy who knows exactly how to do his craft. I absolutely love my cut and color!!! Thanks Peter , your professional expertise and need for perfection makes for the perfect cut/color combination! Amanda is the Best 1/21/2012

I just had my hair cut by Amanda at New Art Salon and I can't say enough good about her! She listened to what I wanted and did not want in a hair style in order to come up with something that worked for me. She very thoughtfully cut my bangs just a bit shorter than she otherwise would after asking me how far from the salon I lived, so as not to inconvenience me with too much driving. She provides free bang trims to her clients as well, which is a plus for those of us who don't like burning money on something so simple. I was also happy with how informed she is about quality hair maintenance. We have a similar hair type so it was nice to have a reliable resource regarding ways to make my hair look best when styling it at home. Considering the in-depth knowledge that she portrayed during my haircut, I would assume she is equally knowledgable about a wide variety of hair types and styles. The price is right too, costing about the same as (or possibly less than, $35 for a non-discount cut) a senior stylist at Regis Salon with a far better outcome than I have experienced there. That is not an insult to Regis, which I have liked in the past, but rather a flattering portrayal of the quality that can be expected from such an excellent stylist! more

Best Pedicure Ever! 1/21/2012

Just what this salon has been in need of! Leigh is the new manicurist and WOW is she AMAZING... Two days ago I had a pedicure that was out of this world! My pedicure started out with a whirl pool bath foot soak in with a reclining massage chair. very relaxing, she was very gentle with the cuticle care and filing and did not hold back on the leg and foot massage that lasted at least five minutes on each leg and foot. My polish was impeccable. Thank you Leigh, I have had many pedicures and paid far more and received less quality. I will be back! more

She took time to talk with me about what I was looking for, then took into account my lifestyle, age, hair texture, eye color, etc. and - voilà! - the perfect color and cut! The salon is comfortable and friendly and they've won a loyal customer. more

I just scheduled my second appointment this amanda today. Seriously she KNOWS how to cut bangs! How many times do you go home having to trim off missed hairs and weridness. I had people stop me in the street and tell me how great my hair looked. Took her time and did a great job! more

Peter Gillium Rocks! 11/12/2011

I have baby fine, pin straight blonde hair that has been the bane of my existence yet Peter has been able to make it wonderful and workable for 26 years! Dude can cut and color like no other, but his best hidden talent is the perm. Yes - the perm. I don't recommend to most that they perm and color - it's hard on the hair. My fine blonde hair has always been perm resistant and tolerates it well for some reason. The new perms help. They are not the ammonia packed perms of the past and are much easier on the hair. They do have a strong smell though, that will last for a few washings. But if you're looking for some lasting volume, waive, or curl - Peter is most definitely your guy. He wraps with extreme precision (the most important part of the perm). Thanks for making this girl's hair look great and best of all, manageable Peter! Rock on! more

PETER IS PHENOMENAL! 11/9/2011

I've been trying to grow out my hair and have been living in fear of totally botched or short cuts as ive had in the past. But it had to be done, I couldn't take it anymore. So I came across this salon, and PETER! instantly made me forget this fear! From the moment I walked in he was great. He came to greet me and shake my hand, and hung my coat for me- what a gentleman! He took the time to really examine my hair and hear what I had to say and what I wanted. The end result was fantastic! Peter is a BRILLIANT and knowledgeable stylist!! He has had many years of experience and he really knows what he is doing.. and it completely shows! I have absolute trust in him, for he knew what was good for my hair and knew EXACTLY how to make it look good. He was also continuously reevaluating to make sure everything was perfect! I could go on and on! He honestly is the best stylist and I WILL be returning! I love my new cut, no complaints! Even the price was very reasonable! And the atmosphere is very welcoming as well, everyone was smiling! Thanks again, Peter! more

I've been going to Peter for about a year now. He does great work with Asian hair, foiling, coloring and cutting. He really listens to what you want and doesn't just make up his own haircut. In addition, he will provide possible option ideas if you need that as well. He is on time, professional and does excellent work. He is a stellar professional and always provides the time needed to do a good job. In addition, his prices are reasonable and his work hours are flexible. Thank you. more
