National Tavern

No gimmicks here. Stop in every night after work and have for years so have many others gals and guys alike. Becca and Leeann and two part time guy bartenders could not be any better. They always know the drinks we want and as we walk through the door they have them at our place at the bar. Good bar food and plenty to do with the horseshoe pits in the summer to pool and darts. No longer the "best kept secret!" this neighborhood Tavern has now come into it's own. The locals that have come here for years welcome all that enter with their tales of yesterday..Beer Garden with horse shoe pit and plenty of nice seating..inside the owners have gone back to the era of 1944 the year the bldg was built. Dart Teams play here too. Best of all I have to say is the coldest beer I have had in the area...You must stop by and see the changes...Overall great place to meet your friend for the "drink after work." more

This out of the way bar/pub in the original 1940's building is a great meet your friends place. Friendly "good 'ole guy's" bartenders. New is a horseshoe pit AND you can sign up to be on a dart league...FREE, yes FREE WiFi... Still like meeting my friends here..reminds me of the "Cheers" bar on television..you wallk in and everyone knows your name and drink...See ya there!! more

Good: Quiet out of the way place to meet my friends...no "sex sells" attitude from bartenders.. Bad: Bartender closed early.. Other: Every one was very nice and is a great place to shoot darts and pool.. more

The much loved National Tavern sits on the corner of National & F Streets, my friends and I just love to go to this bar, it is no nonsense not a sex sells bar. People always happy, no fights, fair prices. Great bartenders. Locals always have their same seats and truly they remember your name when you walk in and remember your favorite drink. Ronnie and Davey the bartenders have been their a while and watch out for everyone. Lindsey is newer and a real, cute sweetheart. This is a real feel good place. A pub with a good brew, nice people...what a hometown bar use to be and still is here. They don't have to work at public service, they have it. I suggest you try this place. What do they offer? Beer, mixed drinks, gambling, pool, poker, appetizers, video games, TV's, big screen and just good people. more
