Great spot not many people know about! 4/16/2006

I took my kids to The National Inventors Hall of Fame last week and they loved it! I was a little underwhelmed when we first came into the building, but my children, age 4 and 1.5 played happily for 2 hours straight. There is a water table, awesome build-your-own house exhibit, and a children's nook with picture books, a sound machine, blocks, computers, etc. I do think the admission is fairly high for the museum, but it seems like they do not get a lot of traffic, so I understand the higher price. Overall, a great place to take little ones for a low-key afternoon of fun. more

Not very exciting 8/20/2005

The Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron has a wealth of information about the people who have changed our lives with their inventions, but is not the most fun place in the world. There are several floors dedicated to biographies of inventors, and the ground floor has interactive exhibits for kids. The bottom floor is the best but nothing there can compare to a place like the Great Lakes Science Center. more

National Inventors Hall of Fame 8/20/2005

I have been to the Inventor’s Hall of Fame a few times, both for functions such as banquets and also to visit and look at the exhibits. When I went there for the banquet it wasn’t too bad. It had the capacity to hold quite a large crowd and an aptly placed staircase going high above the banquet area with a microphone which was great to address the crowd! As for exhibits, however, I was not overly impressed. When compared to the Great Lakes Science Center it had very few exhibits. It was great for the banquet, though! more

Another hidden Gem in Akron 8/19/2005

Ohio is host to several national hall of fames which honestly makes me proud. One of them is the Inventor's Hall of fame. Take a step back in history to see the things and see the people who have made a tremendous contribution to modern times by way of their inventions that took off. These great people have shaped our lives through the ideas and great minds that they possessed. There is also activities that are specifically designed for kids of all ages. A trip not to be missed for sure. more

Want to know the inventors of technology...check this place out. 8/19/2005

This museum has been the best place I ever visited in Akron. It honors the women and men responsible for the great technological advances that we humans have been utilizing for our growth. Their patented inventions are displayed here for you to look at. Good place for kids aged 2 to 6 to college students. You definitely have to check out this place when you are in Akron. more
