JOIN ONLY IF YOU WANT TO GET OUT OF YOUR CONTRACT BY DYING. \r \r Gyms who are affiliated with National Fitness Financial do so IN ORDER TO CONTRACT ITS MEMBERS FOR LIFE, LITERALLY. If you expect to be a member of such gyms for life AND you don't expect to relocate, then such a gym is for you. Otherwise, the only way to cancel your contract is to (1) die, (2) become physically or mentally injured in such a way that permanently prevents you from using the gym facility, or (3) permanently relocate to an area that does NOT have an affiliated gym within 25 miles. \r \r VAGUE TERMS IN CANCELLING YOUR CONTRACT: Requires notice to National Fitness Financial that is ""acceptable"" to them. ""Acceptable Terms"" is not specified in the contract. \r \r ""ACCEPTABLE TERMS IN CANCELLING YOUR CONTRACT"" means having an affidavit filed with a lawyer serving as a third party witness. A NOTARIZED STATEMENT IS NOT SUFFICIENT. YOU MUST HAVE A FORMAL AFFIDAVIT WITH A LAWYER SERVING AS A THIRD PARTY WITNESS. more

Rude people! My job relocated me back to Atlanta. I called and told National Fitness in advance and was told that everything would be fine as long as I submitted proof (i.e. driver's license, lease, etc.). I did it the same day and I am still being charged three months later! When I called, I spoke to a VERY rude woman who was very sarcastic. She screamed on the phone and seemed as if I were bothering her by calling. If your gym does business with National Fitness Financial, PLEASE find another gym! more

National Fitness Financial was completely ridiculous when discussing the terms of canceling my contract. The contract I signed stated that if I moved and could provide proof they would discontinue the contract and end the fees. I was first misinformed that I could fax my documents proving my move to the company. When I discovered that I actually had to mail the documents I had already been charged for one month of membership though I had already moved and hadn't been using the gym. I mailed in three separate documents proving my move including a receipt stating my name, the address, the amount and the month of the payment due for my rent at my new address. None of these documents were on their list of valid documents, causing me to have to retrieve my actual lease to send in. Being that I have two jobs and my only full day off is sunday, it is incredibly difficult to find time to get to the office of my apartment and the post office during their open hours. I explained all of this to three different representatives at National Fitness and only ONE was understanding and willing to refund my fees. He told me he would call once they received the lease i sent in, however, a different representative was on the phone and was completely rude and unwilling to listen to what I had to say. I tried to call back and ask for the only representative who was willing to listen to my case, but the other representative refused to transfer me to him. She justified the fact that I would not be refunded for the past two months of membership fees including a maintenance fee because I had not sent in the correct information during my first attempt, despite the fact that my lease CLEARLY states I had been living at my new address during the two months I requested to be refunded. Needless to say I am 100 percent dissatisfied with their customer service and business and will NOT being doing business with them again. Take caution before you sign up with a gym, National Fitness could be your nightmare next. more
