I visited NDC last week with some family. I did not see staff drinking or even eating during the lessons and party. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the band they hired to be great. I had a group lesson and a private lesson and both were well done. As I say we were visiting so I do not know what the regular fees are or if they are higher than other dance studios. more

I wasn't surprised to read bad reviews on this organization. They post for employees on Craigslist. ""Have experience in sports, dance or theatre?"" No reputable dance studio is going to hire someone who doesn't have a rigorous background in DANCE. That's the key word, folks, DANCE. When you visit ANY business ask for their credentials before you break out your wallet. And even then, CHECK OUT their credentials, just in case they're full of caca.. more

I can't thank NDC of Murfreesboro enough for transforming my life and making me into the best possible person I can be. I am healthier and happier. I love the energy of the staff and the welcoming commitee I get when I walk through the doors. You get what you pay for and I am so happy I walked in these doors! more

Great Teachers, Great Service, Great Parties 10/12/2011

I love National Dance Clubs of M'Boro, My experience has been wonderful. I have more confidence in myself as I have danced and achieved things that I never thought I could (including losing 23 pounds). My instructor is a national competitor and has patience unlike anyone I have ever seen. There is an old saying ""You get what you pay for"" and yes they are a little more expensive but this club goes above and beyond to make your experience great. My assumption of the other reviews is that they are expecting to learn for free, or expecting mcdonalds prices for a mortons steak. lol. I would recommend my teacher and national dance clubs to anyone who wants to have fun, lose weight, and learn how to dance in a fun but classy environment. more

Give us more money! 10/11/2011

I have been taking lessons at NDC in Murfreesboro for a year. Ballroom dancing is something that I always wanted to learn and was so very excited when I began with the club. At first the cost of the lessons seems reasonable but after 2-3 lessons the high pressure sales begin and you are required to pay for a certain level of dancing. It begins with Social Ease and then Bronze etc. etc. My dance instructor was great . The problem is that you can not take more than 2-3 lessons until management pulls you out of your lesson to get you to sign up for additional shows etc. I just wanted to dance and not be bothered during my lessons but that NEVER happened . And you talk about expensive! This company charges thousands of dollars. The worst part is that before you have used the lessons that you have already bought you are told that you will not be able to advance until you buy even more lessons at a higher level. You cannot use your left over lessons for advancement so they stop teaching you anything new even though you are ready. I would not recommend this organization to anyone. They do have nice instructors but many are not professional dancers yet they charge a professional fee. The best part was that I had a wonderful teacher who had to adhere to these ridiculous policies. They really take advantage in any way they can get by with. There are better options! more

IF YOUR NOT RICH STAY AWAY!! 3/16/2010

I was invited to NDC as a guest over a year ago. At first everything was wonderful then, as soon as I slowed down on the number of lessons I took a week and didn't do the shows any longer because of the expense (once you get past your first set of lessons which is only a couple of hundred they run over $10,000 for a book of about 100 lessons!!), everything changed!! They no longer danced with me on Friday nights unless it was a slow night, I was the last one called to book in lessons then was frequently bumped for other students who were doing more than I was and was told I would lose what I had learned (muscle memory) if I did not continue at the same pace I had been previously. All in all it ended up making me feel horrible and that I had simply thrown my money away! I also agree with the other comments here about the alcohol and drug abuse. I saw it as well especially at the Friday parties. My instructor would drink before the parties and you could smell it on him!! I'm glad I learned to dance but am happy I left before they got my life savings!! Pros: nice dance floor Cons: way overpriced more

Smoke and Mirrors!! 3/2/2010

If you want to learn to ballroom dance invest your time and money elsewhere!! This studio, while being one of if not the biggest in our area, is way overpriced for what they offer. The average teacher has been there for a year at best and is still trying to learn themselves. On top of that, the majority of teachers there have an alcohol problem which is evident every friday night after the party when they pile up in the managers office for a margarita or some other drink of choice to ""start the evening off"" or Tuesdays during their destination unknown parties where they drink both before and after the event. Teachers will show up for lessons hung over or reaking of smoke both cigarette and pot. As if this was not bad enough, they say no contracts yet everytime you get ""low"" in lessons they take you into the office to sign what they call an ""agreement"" for more. This ""agreement"" has legal terms in it just like a contract and must be signed for you to continue taking lessons!! They also use high pressure sales tactics to get your business and when you can't afford it they continue to push causing some students to leave there in tears while others go home and max credit cards and home loans just to be a part of their group. It is a high pressure, low professionalism environment. Beware what lies behind the smoke and mirrors! Pros: Big dance floor, good location Cons: overpriced more
