The Baltimore Aquarium, one of the showpieces of the waterfront Harborplace overhaul, is spacious, dark, cool and interesting. Part of the interior is shaped into a giant spiral, sort of like the Guggenheim Museum in New York, so that you are continually looking into tanks at the edge of the large, circular interior. The dolphin show is funny and lots of fun. Explanations about the fish are simple to understand, so that parents can explain to children. When I went on a Saturday in the summer, it was very, very crowded, but that's to be expected at that time of year. The aquarium is in the middle of Baltimore's waterfront shopping and dining area. Lots of fun all around.
