Heart disease isn't just the number one killer in the country---it's also the number one killer in Nash County and eastern North Carolina. In an area of the state that is known for problems stemming from obesity and diabetes, it is even more important to provide comprehensive heart care services close to home for Nash and the surrounding counties.
For the patients in our region served by Nash Health Care, cardiology services have been significantly enhanced with the opening of the Nash Heart Center in 2011. While patients have been able to receive diagnostic cardiac catheterizations at Nash Health Care since 1989, now patients no longer need to travel to another facility if the test results demonstrate the need for an interventional procedure—such as a stent placement, or PCI.
Thanks to a partnership between Nash Health Care, Boice-Willis Clinic in Rocky Mount, and Vidant Health, the newly established Nash Heart Center now enables patients to have stent placement procedures performed locally. Since the beginning of 2011, the Nash Heart Center has performed hundreds of catheterizations, which have resulted in life-saving stent placements.
The care provided by our board-certified cardiologists and skilled nurses and technologists is designed to deliver superior quality care for each individual patient. From diagnosis to discharge, our focus is on giving each of our patients the best we have to offer.
