My boyfriend and I stopped at Namaste for a light dinner on a Monday evening. We sat outside, we were waited on fairly quickly and ordered a black tea (iced) and a vanilla Chai. ...

Great place for big groups! 5/11/2006

I took my team from work to Namaste for dinner because my wife and I enjoy the food here so much. This cozy homestyle gourmet cafe's ability to serve a wonderful, hot meal to 15 people thoroughly impressed us. Great food takes time, especially for a big group. Chef Saunjanya only uses fresh natural ingredients and cooks every meal from scratch. The aromas are magnificent, the flavours authentic Nepalese. My favorites are the aloo-tiki and the lamb curry. They remind me of the comfort a wonderful meal provides after a long trek in Nepal. After dinner, definitely try a chai. If you are a global tea-shop hunting connoisseur, you will find that some of the teas here are better than those in Moby's cafe -- Teeny -- in New York's Lower East Side. Pros: Fresh-cut Ingredients, Great Service, The best chai! Cons: Just opened so no liq, or license yet more

Great neighborhood place; worth a journey, too 4/25/2006

Excellent chai and pots of tea of various kinds, all using ingredients from the owners' family tea plantation in Nepal. Really delicious food and pleasant atmosphere, a great place to visit with anyone, whether family, friends, or dates. It's welcoming and casual, just have a hot or iced beverage or a full meal without being made to feel rushed to order, eat and move on. What a café should be! Pros: outdoor dining, lunch menu, cozy Cons: Hennepin parking more

Charming, Intimate, and Delicious! 4/21/2006

We've been three times and are also destined to become regulars! The brothers are so friendly and welcoming, the space so hip, nicely decorated and intimate that we feel as though we could move right in! The appetizers are wonderful, we've tried them all and loved the Mamacha (eat them with your fingers--in one bite!) and the exotic Aloo Achat (potaoes with mixed spices). The entrees and the chai are what really shine. Order the combo platter (it will feed 2-3) and finish with chai. You won't find a better cup anywhere. The perfect evening! Pros: Authentic, Romantic, Delicious Cons: Parking Limited, Slow Dining, Inexperienced Help more

Three words: YUM! YUM! YUM! 4/17/2006

The food was so good, I actually stopped hearing the conversation of my friends! I've eaten at Namaste Cafe twice now, and it's been absolutely delicious both times. I think I will dream about the succulent Sekuwa appetizer every night. The Mamacha is to die for. And who my Ginger Cardomom Chai was pure heaven. I will be a regular. The Regular. Pros: Delicious food, Beautiful ambience, Great location more
