My husband's car recently needed a new set of tires. We looked at all the usual places including Firestone, Discount Tire, Costco and even Walmart. But we ended up at National Tire and Battery.
We are on a really tight budget and the staff here worked with us to get the brand and quality of tire we needed, at a price we could afford.
Here's a tip! Don't be afraid to ask for a discount! Do your research before going in to these places. Know what a tire SHOULD cost to put on. Then, when talking with your tire consultant, don't be afraid to let them know what your budget is. Believe it or not, there is wiggle room on pricing 90% of the time. And most managers would rather not lose a sale!
Anyway, after talking with the consultant and manager, we wound up paying $400 for a set of $650 tires, including all the balancing, rotation and a fabulous 75,000 mile warranty.
I think far too many people are afraid to try to bargain, but believe me it works. And now this NTB has a new customer!
