My Sister's Place & My Sister's Attic

I love the idea that My Sisters Place helps those who have been abused I for one was helped by The Umbrella Program when I left my ex, I have donated many things there and have bought many slightly used things there but I do have one issue. There is one employee that works there that apparently we both have rubbed each other the wrong way. I received clothing vouchers to go to there to get clothing for my children because like so many we have fallen on some very hard times. Anyway I have a small problem I have a son who is not your typical teen size. So they extended our voucher for him well the past three times I have gone in there this woman was rude and talked down to me like I was an idiot. Each time I was in there, and then again today after the verbal assault and scene she made she proceeded to flip me off when she thought I wasn't looking. Another employee was called in because of the rude employees lack of self control we explained the situation and said to her that we talked more

This is the best thrift shop overall nestled quite nicely in the heart of the Naugatuck Valley, Ansonia, CT. Def worth the trip, something for everyone, books, clothes even a children's corner. The proceeds do support The Umbrella which supports battered women. You will never know when you will need their services as I found out many years ago and was shopping at the store before I even needed their services. All my gently used clothes and books and etc are donated there and it is just an overall wonderful experience, always a friend to be made there! more

I finally decided to go to My Sisters Place after seeing the donation center at my bank. I was very pleasantly surprised at the large selection of nice items! The staff was friendly, and the proceeds all go to a good cause. After purchasing a few "new" items, I decided to go home and donate items we no longer use to My Sisters Place. If you're in need of home furnishings, clothing, or miscellaneous items, try this store BEFORE you go to Walmart, Bob's Furniture, etc. The prices can't be beat and the proceeds support abused women's charities. Their inventory obviously changes regularly, so it's a good idea to stop by one or twice per month. You'll be amazed at what you find here! more
