My Sister's Closet

After having shopped the regular retail stores to find my daughter a prom gown, she found nothing she liked. A friend of hers suggested My Sister's Closet. We gave it a try and found a beautiful gown in her size. While she was trying on different gowns, I looked around and found some very nice items for myself. I even found a Nine West handbag that looked brand new. My daughter was happy and I was happy. The ladies there were very nice and I do recall having seen a notice that if your items are not sold within a certain amount of time, they will be donated to a charity unless you come to pick them up. more

I took a number of articles to the store to consign. The contract does not include that all of your items could be marked down an additional 15% off what they tell you. When I questioned this, my commission was increased. Why would they do that??? When I went to pick up my pieces that did not sell, about 50% of them were no longer in the store. I was told they must have been donated even though I was specifically told on a phone call they would not be. Then I was offered other peoples clothing that were due to go to charity to appease me. All those people thought their clothes were being donated when she was in actuality offering them to another consigner. Who in good conscience would do that? Seems unethical to me. I will not return there nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. Cons: Dishonest more
