NEW NAME - NEW OWNERSHIP!! 12/3/2008

If you've read the previous reviews, you can probably deduce what happened. The bar went under do to aforementioned issues as much as anything and, in the end, took the neighboring restaurant down with it. Pros: New Ownership!!! more

Live music that you'll hopefully wanna stick around for... 5/15/2008

Hey friends...just wanted to let y'all know that I'll be performing this evening at MFC. Judging at least from one of the previous posts, maybe some of the acts haven't been so freindly on the ears. I hope to change that tonight. I can't speak for the atmosphere or experiences there, as this'll be my first time there...but I aim to put on a good night of music for everyone. Hope you'll give it a shot. more

KARMA 4/11/2008

Lisa Freestone, all I can say is KARMA!!!!! What goes around DID come around!!!!! How do You feel now?? It's kinda like the hunter has been hunted, isn't it? Pros: The BS Cons: THE BPD more

Bake22 says it all!!! 3/10/2008

Bake22, I give you a ""Highly Recommended"" rating. You put it precisely as it was at the beginning and how I've heard it has been since I was let go ""due to streamlining"" after working there for within a month after they opened til about 6 months later. I ended up working at another Cigar shop and was frequented by many who had either worked there, used to work there, used to frequent there, or only went there as a last resort. They had the same comments about how they believed Lisa was going to cause the business to go under. And everyone had the same wonderful comments about how Bruce is such a great person. I can truely attest to that. Hopefully I was one of those ""helpful staff of about two people"" that you are referring to. All the Best! :D Pros: Bruce Freestone Cons: Lisa Freestone more

Okay 3/4/2008

To agree with some other posters, Lisa is the problem. Her husband Bruce is a great guy. Too bad he isn't around as much. Most of the other staff are good and friendly. All in all a good place to hang out if you can put up with Lisa. more

Drunken Owner 3/1/2008

My Favorite Cigar started out as a small little shop with a nice, helpful staff of about two people. It had a great selection, good prices and quality stogies! Every once in a while you would see Bruce Freestone the owner in there...nice guy, helpful and polite. As the business started to grow they began to expand and gain more cigars and customers. Then it happened, they remodeled and started to serve alcohol. The problem doesn't lie within the serving of alcohol...it's Bruces' wife Lisa! I was in there enjoying a good cigar about once or twice a month for a while. The bigger they grew the worse it got in there. Lisa 's constantly there hammered (I know hammered, I was a nightclub manager for 6 years) with a loud obnoxious laugh always feeling up the clientell and giving away profits by giving away cigars and alcohol!! She's the biggest problem but the staff is slow and not very friendly and couldn't make a good cocktail to save anyones life. Big change compared to when they first opened! Now they have a live band or two man group on the weekends and they run you out like really bad karaoke. I still stop in from time to time, hoping that something has changed and thinking it couldn't be any worse. Now though as of the last time I was in, the selection is less than half of what it once was and the ones they do have are too moist (spongy and over humidified). The biggest downfall out of everything, what is running them out of business is Lisa! Pros: parking Cons: Lisa, quality, service, eye burning (smoke filled), selection, bands more

Drunken owner, good drinks and cigars 7/28/2007

I too had a similar experience. The owner was a female... loud and obnoxiouis. She tried to pick up on me numerous times and was overly friendly. The place had a great atmosphere, superb service, but the owner, Lisa?, was drunk and out of control. The cigar selection had been pretty good until the past few months. I used to frequent the place and find myself avoiding it now if the owner is there. She will probably put the place out of business. It truly is a shame that such a great place is going to be ruined by poor ownership. If she happens to read this... lady, take a step back, put down the alcohol, and keep your legs crossed!!!! Pros: Great drinks, service, and cigars Cons: Drunken, obnoxious owner present most of the time. more

Lisa Freestone Brownsburg 4/3/2007

I had the same experience. Her name is Lisa Freenstone and she attempted to get in my pants as well. I will never go in there again. I must say they had a good selection of decent cigars. Pros: decent selection Cons: Lisa Freestone more

Poor selection/Over friendly owner 3/26/2007

Nice little place in the heart of Brownsburg. Bar staff was nice but quiet. Not a great selection of Cigars as compared to most places I am used to. I have been their two times now and each time I went there the owner made me feel uncomfortable. Both times she was drunk and the second time I went in there, I had to leave immediatley after she made a pass on me. I would not recomend this bar unless you are hard pressed for time. Pros: Quick place to go in a bind Cons: Over friendly owner / poor selection / lack of parking more
