Left My Head Spinning 7/22/2009

The receptionist and vet tech were very nice. There was a wait; dislike being on time and waiting for someone who isn't. I didn't feel the vet explained what the shots being administered were preventing. I also didn't like how the heart worm medicine (in treat form) was shoved down my dogs throat. I was given a vile of pills to give my dog, but she didn't explain what they were, or what they were for. If she did it was at 8000 words per minute and I was unable to follow.\r It's possible my pup's appointment was on an over-booked day for the clinic, but I felt like a number in the herd; rushed through the line. That was the first time she and I had been to My Family Vet, and we won't be going back for her spay or more shots. Maybe sometime in the future I will try them again, but for now I will keep looking for a more patient vet.\r Pros: Nice Facility, Nice People Cons: Rushed, No Explinations more

Good care but busy practice 4/4/2009

I've taken a couple of my dogs to this vet and while the care is satisfactory, the place is so busy that it's often times chaotic. I had one of my dogs neutered here and a couple of days later the stitches came open. Ouch! I took him in and they didn't want to re-stitch him, rather, they sent him home and told me to keep him calm. more

Fantastic, compassionate veterinarian 1/23/2009

I've rarely seen a more compassionate, caring veterinarian and staff than that of Dr. Scott's. I have taken hundreds of rescue dogs to her clinic and received nothing but top-knotch, care. She has to be one of the best veterinarians in the city.\r \r more

Awesome people! Awesome place! 10/8/2008

I have never met more compassionate, caring people in our area that love what they do. This veterinary hospital has a team that shines. I had heard that they were busy and I can see why; they are good at what they do! The place is clean and the staff is friendly. My dogs loved it there! They were given treats and hugs and kisses by the staff! Thank God I found this place!!! Highly recommend... Pros: Good prices, Smart Vets, Friendly People more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS CLINIC!!!!!! 9/5/2008

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC!!!!! We have a diabetic cat who needs insulin twice a day. I made an appointment to have his glucose level checked and dropped him off in the morning. I called later to check on him and they said that they had not performed the test because I had not brought his insulin with me. I was not told that he needed it. We made a second appointment to have him checked and my husband received a call later to inform him that the test had not been done because they were ""too busy"". I asked if he had received his insulin in the morning and they said that he had not. When I asked the clerk why she said she did not know why. These people are supposed to be in the business of HEALING animals, not putting them in danger of diabetic shock, coma or organ failure. If they are ""too busy"" to perform a test scheduled days in advance then they need to stop taking appointments until they get their calendar in order. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS CLINIC!!!!!! \r \r more

OMG!!! 7/30/2008

I brought in Tater Tot, my adorable little cocker spaniel puppy, to My Family Vet thinking he was on the brink of death when Dr. Scott took one look at him, offered to take charge, and then simply whisked him away to somewhere I dont know where. Not expecting any miracles, I went home in tears feeling horrible. Every day that I waited for any kind of news was torture. I was about to give up hope when Dr. Scott called me one morning to say: ""you can take your dog home now."" Can you imagine my tears of joy and heartfelt gratitude? How can I thank her? To say that she is amazing is the understatement of the year. \r \r Pros: Great doctors and staff Cons: Very busy more

i have 6 animals that Dr Scott has been taking care of for over 7 years. She makes it affordable for me to have this many animals and keep them healthy and up to date on shots. She has given me fair prices and down home care. all the staff has been there for ever and they all are on top of the busyness of the office is always clean and their rooms are painted  in cheerful colors.   you are greeted with smiles when you walk in.  Often I have had  an emergency that was been cared for,  after hours.. there is another vet in the office that is as caring as DR Scott and I am just as comfortable to have her work on my little friends as I am to have Dr Scott work on my animals. Excellent vet! 1/13/2008

Dr. Scott is amazing. We brought our precious dog in to see her 8 months ago. He was not doing well. He was on death's door-step. 2 weeks later, he had to be placed in an oxygen box so he could breathe. My wife and I both thought we would lose him on that day. Our old vet would have given up on him. Dr. Scott refused to give up on him. Here it is 8 months later. Each day we know it could be his last since he was diagnosed with a fatal disease (Congestive Heart Failure). We would not have had these precious 8 months if she had given up on him. He has a good quality of life now. My wife and I highly recommend Dr. Scott. Pros: Pretty much everything. Excellent staff! Cons: Hard to get in and out of. more

A pet lover 10/24/2007

We have 3 large dogs and have been going to Dr. Scott for a few years now because she is the first Vet we've found that is truly interested in helping our pets without nickel and diming us to death. We have 3 healthy, happy, not so well behaved chocolate labs who LOVE Dr. Scott. more

What an awesome veterinary office! All of the staff and veterinarians are so kind and caring for the pets as well as the owners. Highly recommend! 10/2/2007

We recently moved here from another state and feel so blessed to have found such a wonderful vet. We have never actually seen Dr. Scott as patients yet but the other vets on staff are great! Dr. Scott did however, stop and talk to me and my puppy while we were in the waiting room. She sat down next to me and asked my puppy's name and why he was there & talked with me a little bit about his condition. What a group of kind, caring professionals! more

Terrific Vet! 11/5/2006

Dr. Clara Scott is a wonderful vet. She really listened to me when I explained about the situation my cat was in when other vets simply ignored my concerns. She did a wonderful job trying to figure out what was wrong with my cat and even contacted an old professor of hers to see if they had any ideas. She grieved with me when we lost her. (I wish we had found Dr. Scott sooner, my cat might still be here today.)\r I currently have a cat and a dog and we are faithful to Dr. Scott. She knows her business and she really cares about her patients and their ""parents."" Pros: Caring, Knowledgeable, Priced right more

Nice vet 11/8/2005

I was very pleased with Dr. Clara Scott. She took the time to talk with us about our two large dogs. She didn't try to get us to spend a lot of extra money. Our previous vet wanted us to get one of the dog's teeth cleaned, which Dr. Scott said was unnecessary. Also, she helped us save money by prescribing a generic heart worm pill. I didn't even know such things existed. PROS: Close to my house, groomer on premises CONS: Have to travel a little down an unpaved, bumpy road to reach the office more

Caring for your pet like family!

Owner Message
  •  My Family Vet sprang from Dr. Scott’s vision of a veterinary practice that encompassed excellent patient care with a compassionate and personable experience. Dr. Scott made her vision a reality when she started practicing out of the front room of her own home. Word quickly spread that she was an amazing veterinarian and her practice began to grow. It was time she moved out of her house and into her own space. Dr. Scott moved into a 600 square foot area and hired her first team members creating My Family Vet.

As she continued to grow, she was able to open her arms to local rescue groups in need, helping those pets get healthy and find their forever homes. It did not take long to realize that My Family Vet needed even more space to accommodate our ever growing client family. In 2006 Clyde and Charlcy Theiss were kind enough to sell their ranch home on Kuykendahl to Dr. Scott knowing it was “going to the dogs!” There were many spiritual confirmations along the way that opened doors for this location and made My Family Vet what it is today. With your help we have hired more staff and doctors to accommodate the influx of patients. We are now able to do more surgeries, see more clients/patients in a timely manner with our 7 exam rooms, and help more of our sick patients with our spacious treatment area. We are constantly educating ourselves on new medications, techniques, and treatments to keep up with the ever changing practices of veterinary medicine. From our humble beginnings of 50 clients to now almost 15,000 My Family Vet continues to heal animals through excellent veterinary medicine, client education and compassionate care.

Please feel free to come by and visit our clinic. Our staff is always ready to meet your furry family members. And don’t forget to stop and smell the roses in our beautiful prayer garden.
