I've been going to My Brother's since I was a toddler. It is located a half-a-block's walk from my grandma's house. Every Sunday, at least 5 or 6 our large family would walk across the street, and grab some BBQ...you can't stay away! I haven't been in a few years, since I moved to the east coast, so I can't speak to some of the recent negative reviews. But the guy complaining about the sauce....well, that's just a matter of taste. I know for a fact that they haven't changed the recipe in 50 years, because I order a case of it by mail, its THAT good. Even with all of the gourmet BBQ sauces you can find in the supermarkets these days, none of them even comes close to the perfectly balanced, just a hint of spicyness, sweet and savory sauce My Brother's makes. My favorite has always been their simple, yet perfectly cooked beef sandwich....layers of paper-thing sliced tender beef, that's been roasted to perfection, on a delicious squishy bun....perfect for just soaking up tons of that amazing sauce! I suggest you all go in to this quaint, affordable local landmark and give it a try. This place is truly historic...not many of these kinds of family-owned businesses left on Ventura Bld., anymore....the Acapulco's and the Cheesecake Factories have been pushing these LA legend restaurants out for years. Support the movement for REAL FOOD....get to My Brother's!
Pros: Quaint, homespun ambience, that you just don't get in LA anymore.
Cons: There isn't one where I live!
