Music Box

Recently I ordered a nice Tele from Music Box. They matched the big-box retailer's price. A few days later I noticed a very bad hum from the bridge pickup, so I took it back. Here's the amazing thing -- Bill Stevens fixed it on the spot! It was not the easiest repair, and his store was filling up with customers, but he still fixed it right away. There's no way you can get service like that at a Big Box. It's worth it to buy from this local store. more

Good service from people that actually care, and as far the price gos they have to charge a little more because they cant bulk order everything like the big chains can. How ever they will match the advertised price of the big chains. I have shopped at both the Stockton and the Lodi shops for over 10 years now, and a lot of the stuff is the same or really close to the prices of the big chains. more

What is the core of a Successful business ? Experienced employees, a knowledge of the products that can only be gained through "hands on" training , usually a lifetime of dedication to that particular field. A good repore with the customer, Building confidence that they have shopped at a place they can come back to for help or advice long after the sale. I have been a customer at MUSIC BOX for many years for these very reasons and more. Bill Stevens has been involved in the local music scene before the Beatles sang "love me do".He shines in his guitar playing and knowledge of the Music Business and the whole Band experience . Ask any one around and they will tell you Richie is an excellent Guitar teacher whose love for his Craft comes through in his playing and personality. With not too many alternatives in the area to purchase musical instruments/supplies, the Music Box has capitalized on this and is able to over-charge on their inventory. The selection of instruments and accessories is above average for a music store, and in fact at times is quite impressive. This high point, however, is negated by the fact that everything is overpriced here. With not too many alternatives in the way of musical equipment suppliers, customers are given the shark treatment by Music Box, and are expected to pay high premiums. The help is satisfactory---able to answer questions, but does so unenthusiastically. Unless you absolutely, DIRELY necessarily need some equipment, don't buy it here, you will lose a fortune.
