Well worth the trip 6/26/2002

My little boy (3 years old) had a terrific time. He loved ""driving"" the tractors and we had a hard time getting him to do much else. It's a bit of a drive to get down here, but there's plenty of parking. And lots of places to eat a little bit north in the Hyde Park neighborhood. Pros: Lots to see Cons: A bit pricey more

Great Museum 5/30/2002

I've been going to this museum since I was in grammer school. I'm now in my 30's and I still enjoy going. I'ts a huge place so plan on staying all day if you want to see most everything, including the special exhibits. Sometimes the schools come in for their field trips, avoid the lil brats if you can. more

Got into it 5/20/2002

My boyfriend and I visited this museum back in March, and we really enjoyed its interactivity. Don't miss the opportunity to be a mix master at the hip hop exhibit or a jet pilot in the flight simulator. The baby chick exhibit is done well, with struggling newborns (which could be a little frightening to youngsters) displayed right next to some older ones that look cute and fuzzy, like you picture baby chicks. The most important part of enjoying the Museum of Science and Industry is getting there early enough--there is so much to see and do. Some exhibits are less engaging or have interactive elements that are on the primitive side; don't get discouraged by those--just keep moving, because you will find something you really like. more
