this is a beautiful museum with lots of great collections as well as great special exhibits. in addition, once a week (i think it;s wednesday nights) students and kids can go free and the environment is really nice and freindly and kids feel welcome. its awesome! more

The MFA in Boston is a very nice establishment. As soon as patrons see the exterior of this lovely museum, they will know they are in for a high-class treat. The interior wings are lovely- with marble masonry work highlighting the exhibits. Large halls over power some of the paintings, but impress upon the viewer the signifcance of what they're seeing. The MFA has a large collection of Egyptian and Asian art which is great to inspire today's artists with themes from the past. Also housed here are severeral works by Monet and Gaugin- probably not the best collection but nice to see nonetheless. Limited engagement exhibits cost a bit extra to get into, but are always extensive and worth the few extra dollars to explore interesting subject matter more in depth. more

local gem! This is a great museum for the Boston community. Although relatively small in size, the museum has some wonderful collections - particularly of musical instruments. Great place for families and college students can get in for free once each week. Their special exhibits are always worth the extra admission fee. more

The MFA is one of the most prestigious art museums in the world. There are plenty of other art museums in Boston which are also good too, but I find the MFA Boston holds the best exhibits and masterpiece works. You can spend an entire day a the museum and possibly not see it all. It's great to see what's what and escape the mundane outside world. The Asian exhibits are top-notch, including a wonderful mock Japanese Buddhist shrine, designed to give a sense of how the Buddhist statues would look in the real world. When you consider that the $15 price of admission buys you two trips within 30 days, it's a steal. more

The Museum of Fine Arts is the most famous of Boston's Museums. The type of artwork to see here is Asian Art. There is a great collection of artwork from the Asia-Pacific Region. Furthermore, be sure to go through the walkway that was designed by I.M. Pei, who designed the walkway of the louvre in France. Admissions is costly at $15 but students go in for free. more

This art and history museum runs the full gamut from modern abstract art to ancient Egyptian artifacts. It is easy to spend a full day roaming the exhibits and still feel like you missed parts of the museum. The museum offers quite a collection of famous artists, including O'Keefe, Pollack, etc. A must see! more

The Museum of Fine Arts is the place to go to spend the day viewing art from any period or genre of art that you can imagine. The art work ranges from egytian artifacts to modern art. I particularly like the impressionist collection. If you are a student, they offer discounts with your student ID. more

I absolutely love spending time at the MFA! I strongly recommend you check out the impressionist room, as it is wonderfully done. The Egyptian exhibit can be extensive, but if you are interested, it is a great thing to have at your finger tips. It is a very accessible museum. You can take the green or orange line to it, and they also have their own parking on site. The special exhibits are usually quite good and are available for a long period of time. They sell out quick on weekends though, so reserve your tickets early. If you are a student, check to see if you can get free admission. Most of the area colleges get in free with their IDs. more

The MFA is filled with art in several forms - pottery, paintings, clothing, furniture, and statues. The museum itself is a beautiful piece of architecture. The collections are wonderful and will take more than a full day to look at everything. This is a great place for family, friends, and dates. Two tips: 1) The Museum of Fine Arts offers optional admission on Wednesdays after 4 PM. 2) The $15 adult admission fee pays for 2 trips within 30 days. more

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is a grand cultural institution. Often thought of as stuffy or set in it ways, I believe the MFA is a true cultural Mecca with avant-garde film festivals, outdoor and indoor conferences, Friday night drinks and music among the art, and of course a truly beautiful collection of art. I urge everyone to go to MFA.org and check out the calendar of events. Most are very inexpensive one of a kind opportunities! The art collections really have something for everyone…There is Ancient and Modern, there is photo and sculpture, there is a Rock Garden and outdoor sculpture. My Favorites are: 1)The Contemporary Wing featuring work by current artists. 2)The Impressionist room with some staggeringly beautiful Monet's 3)The Japanese Samurai collection with swords and kimonos 4)The Musical Instrument collection 5)The Black and white photography The MFA is on the T's Green line, along the Fenway which is a lovely stretch of green space that borders various college campuses. (Northeastern campus, Boston University, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, MassArt, and more!!!). more

Museum of Fine Arts is located in the Fenway / Longwood area on the Huntington Avenue. Museum of Fine Arts carries a fine selection of art creations around different rooms of galleries in the building. It is a good way to expand one's artistic knowledge. Its gift shop inside the museum carries a lot of great gifts after visitation. more

The Museum of fine arts is a cool art museum they have a lot of nice art pictures and statues. I had to do a project there based on the different cultures and projects and I learned a lot and found it actually interesting and enjoyed it and I usually am not that into museums and projects like that but i found it interesting and really learned alot from it. more

If you love art then run don’t walk to the MFA. This is one of my favorite places in Boston to go to. There is so much to see. Any kind of art form you can think of you can find here. It is also a great place to take the kids when they have a report in school of geek or Egyptian things. If you are interested in old world class styling of furniture or art deco designs you will find it here. The gardens are beautiful. more

The art here is above mediocre. Its actually quite decent. The museum can easily be accessed at the E line on the green line. They had a car show recently showing old but beautiful cars. If you have a fascination for some art or inspiration, then come to this museum. It is the right one to go to in Boston. more

The Musuem of Fine Arts in Boston, near Copley Plaza and Northeastern University, is one of the finest art musuems in the world. There is all kinds of art here from impressionism to modern art. My only complaint is the lack of the most famous works (unless there is a special exposition). However this museum is definitely worth visiting if you appreciate fine art. more

This museum has everything under the sun. Classic, Renaissance, Impressionism, Expressionism, Modern...every kind of artwork you can imagine is housed underneath the MFA's roof. It also houses different travelling shows, like Paul Gaugain's Tahiti work or Ralph Lauren cars. Definitely worth visiting and returning to many times. And a student ID gets you free admission! more
