In the past I was a volunteer at the Multnomah Animal Control. The facility is old and run down and all the pets there are in dire need of a new home. It is not a no-kill shelter, so if you want to truly rescue an animal’s life… look there first. It amazed me the quality of animals they have for adoption… a litter of pure bred puppies that someone might pay $300 a dog for… well-trained gentle family dogs… caged pets like bunnies… friendly affectionate cats… all available for the cost of the vet fee and spay or neuter charge if they had that done.
