I had a rebuild of my transmission done on my 99 silverado, which I still own. 146,500 and now at 187,000 the torque converter is losing o.d. Again! Unsatisfied for $1500 and only...

Tom and this place ROCKS 10/27/2016

I'm from out of town and out of state. Another shop treated me like a dumb blond. I called and talked to Tom. He had me bring in my car the next day and he drove it. I was correct, the transmission needed rebuilt. But Tom also found more wrong then what I thought. He didn't treat me or make me feel like a dumb blond. I was treated with the utmost respect and my car got fixed right. I would tell all my family and friends to bring their cars here for any transmission problems. more

Don't Bother Searching Around, They're The Best In Town 9/19/2016

Confident I made the best decision possible by picking them 2/25/2016

I called around to many different companies and Tom at Multistate Transmission actually got the best clutch possible for my Mazda RX-8, for a cheaper price than anyone was going to give me. Overall, the job for the clutch replacement cost $1,500. Tom kept in good communication with me and explained the entire process--going into what they were going to do. They did the replacement in a very timely manner and took care of everything in a few days. I will continue use them for the fact they can offer me the best price. But, also seeing their history, because they have been there for many, many years and have letters on their wall sent by people thanking them. more

Great shop, quality work 11/6/2015

Multistate Transmission has been in business for years and it's a great shop. The owner is a good guy and he wouldn't steer you wrong. Recently they put a whole new transmission in my vehicle, and they did a great job. Everyone there is professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. They explain what they're doing and answer any questions I may have. I've worked with transmissions for years, and it was time-saving to have them take care of it for me instead of having to do it myself. It was easy to make the appointment with them and they were on time. They also worked with me on financing and were very accommodating. I'll be taking another vehicle to them in the next couple of weeks to get the reverse fixed. They are good at what they do and I would highly recommend them. more

Trustworthy, dependable, excellent! 10/2/2015

I've been going to Multistate Transmission for maybe fifteen to twenty years. The last project they did for me was replace a universal joint in my car. The people who did the work were very good and knew what they were doing. Their prices are very competitive for their service. What stands out to me, though, with Tom Layman and Multistate Transmission, is their honesty. Tom has always been extremely honest with me, even to the point where he's told me there's actually nothing wrong with my car when other people would have told me there was. Through the years I've been going to and using Multistate, I've developed great trust for them. To anyone who's in need of transmission repair, shop around but I don't think they'll find a more honest company that does reliable work at reasonable prices. more

Clean atmosphere, friendly, professional, and honest. 7/17/2015

I had a transmission problem with my car and I had been to other places they told me they'd have to put in a rebuilt transmission, but Multistate Transmission told me that it was a small part that I needed, and now my car is running fine. Others were talking thousands, he was only a minimal amount, he was very honest, and when you have a car you need an honest mechanic! more

My experience with Multistate Transmission was very good. I took my '93 Chevy van in when it was having transmission problems, assuming it would be a bad experience. But instead of charging me over a grand for a new transmission, they were able to find me parts that were basically brand new from an older transmission and got me out for just over $100. It takes an honest business to do something like that, and I really appreciate it. more

Courteous, professional service with smile! 10/8/2014

Multistate Transmission always provides very professional work. They have excellent customer service because whenever we have problems with our cars, they locate the cause of the problem, talk to me, consult me, and fix it. I have worked on cars since I was a kid and therefore, I know the ins and outs of car service. Their work is impressive because they usually have my car ready within a week. One time I was so happy with them that I bought them all pizza! I have recommended them to many people already. more

Overall I have had a wonderful experience working with Multistate Transmission's and I have found them to be very friendly, efficient, affordable and overall a timely and professional service. Tom, the owner, does a great job of interacting with customers to make them feel more at home and comfortable with the service that is going on. Amazing and awesome car repair experience. 4/4/2014

I'd absolutely recommend Multistate Transmission. I've used them since 2011. He's honest and keeps it real. I really like his payment plan because sometimes you don't have the money to pay for each repair all the time. He recognizes that and allows people to put half down, and promise to pay the rest. I've never worked with anyone like that who will fix the car, do it right, and then allow you to pay in installments. I've always kept a rapport with him and I've found it to be rewarding. more

My experience with Multistate Transmission was very positive! Everyone I spoke with was polite, honest, and professional. They rebuilt my transmission within the time I wanted and it feels even smoother than before. The turnaround time was very quick and they worked with me on the prices as well. This was my first time using them and my transmission has been working incredibly well. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their transmission rebuilt. more

Very accomodating 1/6/2014

The guys over at Multistate Transmission were so accommodating, I was extremely happy with their service. There was a problem with my car, and having recently moved here I did not know any reliable car service centers. I was worried that I was going to miss many days of work as a result but they allowed me to have the car back on Wednesday and pay them on Friday. I was highly grateful of their level of accommodation! more

Great shop to go to! 7/9/2012

I've been to Multistate Transmission for service 2 times. Both times, without question, have been all 5's. I've met Tom of course, and a few of the guys from the back, and everyone is very professional. I trust them. Tom is super intelligent, focused and the inner workings of his skills and his personal experience are great. He also told some funny stories. He is also a great listener. He is very human and there is no grey area with him. So far, the work has been really good, knock on wood. It's been a 5 for sure. The credit starts at the top with Tom, he gets the credit for the whole process and his customer's experience. Everything works. The location is perfect, it's at a busy intersection, very ideal for people to just pull in. And the service is all 5+ service from everyone there. From a mechanical standpoint, this is one of the best shops out there, and from a personal standpoint, this shop is honest and a joy to go to. more

Took my 4x4 in for transmission/differential noise and they diagnosed that it one worn tire making the noise...no charge, appreciate the honesty Thanks DS more

I am very happy with my experience! 4/6/2012

Multistate Transmission took care of any problem I had. I took my truck in with a transmission problem and Multistate Transmission had no problem taking care of it. The truck was ready at the time they said it would be. It was good. I am very happy with my experience at Multistate. I had used them before, and my wife works by there. I had taken in my wife's car previously, and it was the same experience. They're very good! more

Great to talk to! Easy to work with! 6/17/2011

On my fiance's recommendation, I took my car to Multistate Transmission. It's an ongoing problem, over a recall issue. Tom was great, he contacted the dealer and spoke directly to them for me. My car is still under warranty, so Tom advised me to go back to the dealer because they are still responsible for it. I would absolutely go back to Multistate, because I really appreciated that Tom took matters into his own hands and did some research and contacted the dealer for me. Lenice Powell more

I had a transmission fix a year and a half ago at Multistate Transmission and something went wrong. My car was out of the warranty but since it was only a year and a half ago, the people at Multistate Transmission fixed it at no cost to me. My mechanic had originally referred me to Multistate. It was nice having somebody honest and I really appreciated it. They stuck by their product. more

Multistate Transmission is a great place to go! 3/10/2011

I have a 1999 Honda, and I took it to a bunch of shops to see what the problem was. They all told me different things and wanted to charge me a bunch of money to "fix" it. I took it to Multistate Transmission and they were able to diagnose the issue quickly and efficiently. They figured out that it wasn't serious at all, something had just come loose. They went ahead and fixed it for me without charge. I was so surprised at this, since the other shops had made it sound like my car was dying! I appreciated their honesty and feel I can trust them. They've gained a customer for life just from that one act. They didn't complicate the problem, they solved it. more
