Mt Si Montessori

We moved to the area almost two years ago and I was anxious to find a great Montessori school for my daughter- she went to a wonderful one in Bellevue previously. I looked around and I was impressed. Not only is it beautiful with a large play area for the kids, it feels very family oriented. Everyone seems to know and look out for each other including the parents and families that attend. A warm, encouraging environment and my daughter has thrived. more

Mt Si Montessori has been a great family experience. The rural setting is so peaceful and kid friendly. The 2 classrooms make for a small family setting where you get to know the other families. All their teachers are Montessori certified and also very knowledgeable through their experiences of being in business for 20 years. I feel the previous post may have been for a different school since Mt Si Montessori does not have multi-grade classes and ALL the teachers are Montessori certified. My children were enrolled in a multi-grade class and the teacher had her own political agenda. Additionally, she was NOT a Montessori Certified Teacher. I thought all the teachers had to be, but not so. She was a WA state cert. teacher, but I felt I was paying for the Montessori method and expected to have Montessori Cert. teachers in all grades. Not happy at all that the administrator supported her teacher's political views ( I don't believe I'm paying for anyone's politcial views in a private school). We no longer attend this school. I don't recommend that you do either - unless you want your kids exposed to someone else's politics... then, you might as well send them to public school.
