Located on one of the many Davis Square corners, Mr. Crepe is perfectly situated for a pre-screening snack or post-crawl heart attack. But it stands on its own, too: the espresso bar, ample seating, local newsstand, and residual wifi make this highbrow cafe a keeper.
And those crepes! You know how they show you in school that your brain, spread flat, is the size of a small pizza? It's kind of like that sans kuru. The comforting flavors of smoked turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, and fresh mozzarella sandwiched themselves inside layer after layer of crispy but lithe dough. Choose from their inspired menu or build your own piecemeal (try it with a fried egg, mediterranean-style).
Not about the savory? I've yet to try any sweet crepes, but they deserve the benefit of the doubt. I've watched plate after platter of juicy, gooey, crunchy, chocolate, berry, butter, sugar pass me by. Get one with a scoop of ice cream and lemme know how it goes.
Pros: great selection, courteous staff, sharp crepes
Cons: crowded, sort-of table service, the smelly guy
