The food and the service was atrocious. When we complained to the manager, he became defensive instead of apologetic and told us that if we didn't like it, we shouldn't come back. Needless to say, we won't be! more

Mr Chow was great the first time, but every time since the experience became like deja vu. When you have the staff order for you they always bring the same thing. It is not a pleasant dining experience when they turn tables so fast that you don't have time to finish your first cocktail. Completely over rated and over priced. Miami has so many alternatives that are equally as attractive aesthetically with much better food. more

Before you get to taste the over priced mini portions..you must wait..then wait some more while the 2 guys with major attitude look you over and walk right by...and this is with a reservation!! \r Only to be told by the stunned girl at counter that you will be next...whatever. Pay them. Trust me their hand will come out in a flash and whisk that money from you..and then you will be seated. By that time you are so hungry you will eat anything they give you and love it. \r Oh if only Mr. Chow would read all the horrible reviews. But Mr. Chow doesn't care because he depends on the one timer crowd that feels it's the place to be.. Such a scam. At least go to the Fountain Blue..Hakasan $$$ but great service.\r And I have seen Mr. Chow at his restaurant so he obviously he has lost touch with reality. more

i needed a gift certificate for my very best client. it was her birthday. i went in at 10am to purchase a $250 dinner for her and her husband. after taking copies of my cc and license and filling out a form, i was told to come back when the manager was there..... "but he was very busy" that day. long story sort, 5pm rolls around, no gift certificate and a $100 floral display going bad on my dining room table that I cant deliver b/c she is closed today. JERKS!!!!!! more

The food and service was amazing! I like authentic chinese food and I was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful the food was...Best service and great over all experience....I don't get what all the bad reviews are about...If you don't want to pay $250 for dinner... Don't go to The W! more

Let me start by saying I am not Asian, I'm Italian, but I personally found this Chinese restaurant wayyyy overpriced for the quality, quantity, and even creativity of the food offered. While the ambiance and the location (at the W hotel in South Beach) are both great, there are plenty of restaurants in the area that serve significantly better food. The Mr. Chow Noodles tasted just like P.F. Chang's noodles, and so did many of the seafood and meat entrees, while the $$ is jacked up. It was definitely worth visiting it once, but I would NOT go back to this restaurant any time soon! more

Place was crowded! But that shows how good it is... Food was interesting, but delicious. I got seated right away without a reservation. more

Went here for my wifes birthday and what a great place. The service was perfect and they helped us pick out a perfect meal. We will be back when we are in Miami. more

Terrible!!!! Had reservations didn't get seated till an hr and half later! Food wasn't anything to remember but what I do remember was the bill and that was unbelievably expensive. What a terrible night & terrible restaurant surrounded by a bunch of snobs! more

The food was a Joke.... I would not reccomend this place to anyone. For the price that I am Paying I expected much Higher quality chef inspired dishes and that wasn't the case. Its all about the name that you are paying for more

Average to mediocre at best. We ordered the satay, the crispy duck rolls and the steamed dumplings as appetizers. Then we ordered the drunken fish (which is the only dish I loved), the crab imperial (eggy and gross to say the least) and the tofu casserole which was nothing to write home about. If you seriously think this is good Chinese food go to NYC or better yet London (princess garden of Mayfair) or any hotel in HK and you will realize the difference. I could live another lifetime without eating there. more

Very good food ... My favorites clams pasta ,bufalo meat, steam rice, veggie dumplings etc, but the service was very confusing as always , too much staff looks like they don't know what to do...over priced more

Think Panda Express (mall food court) with a hefty price tag. You would be stupid to spend that kind of money for this food and poor service. My waiter was rude and acted like i was putting him out. The bar is nice. Advice: enjoy the bar, avoid dinner at all costs. more

Mr. Chows Sucks 1/9/2010

What a lousy experience! Bad service, condescending staff, mediocre and overpriced food. It started with the host who we asked for help with the muni meter who said I recommend valet and when we asked her for change for a $5 and she said get it from the bartender. Then snooty waiter who tried to upsell us on the fixed menus and lots of other things. He took the order and never came back. Dirty plates sat until entrees arrived. Dishes were described as ""family style"" but were tiny portions of poorly prepared Chinese food. The steak was overcooked and cold. The sea bass was 3 small nuggets fit for a family of ants, at $33. Speaking of price be careful with the sides $6 per person so we spent $18 on rice, wtf. They also added 20% gratuity! And it was my bday which was noted in the reservation and not so much as a happy bday mr segal. Cons: Lots more

Great scene, Awful Service, Disappointing Food 1/1/2010

Mr. Chow was a fun place to go, but needs to start taking it's guest's needs and standards a bit more seriously. The staff acted as though it was our privilege to be there as a paying guest. It took our table of 7 almost an hour to get a food menu. First a server arrived who only took cocktail orders (which he proceeded to screw up and not apologize for). The waiter was basically inaudible and spent too long explaining how to order- the advice was not helpful. Bottom line: Cool space and decor. Go for the aesthetics, not the food or service. Pros: People Watching Cons: Service is terrible, food is disappointing more

waited 45 minutes for a reservation, too expensive. awful service... doesnt south beach have enough of these types of places more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 12/6/2009

This is a great place to go out for drinks to meet people, but i do not recommend it for dinner at all. The tables are so crowded together, and this restaurant is so loud that I had to scream for the person next to me to hear what i was saying. The "captain" kept trying to convince us to let him order our dinner when we just wanted to look at a menu. There was not a lot of food for $85 dollars a person and what we had was not good. If you want upscale chinese, i recommend Phillipe's just one block north at the Gansevoort hotel. Better ambiance, better prices, and MUCH better food. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 10/26/2009

There is no reason why Chinese food should be so expensive. Particular after asking three waiters what kind of meat I was eating and none of them had an answer for my simple question. This is a place you pay for the dazzling atmosphere and the beautiful people. Thick carpet throughput the place can get your hills stuck. After dinner it's a great idea to hang around the lobby bar and the "Eden Garden" pool area. Very Midnight Summer's Dream! Important: They serve Caipiroska! Do I need to say the place is crowed with Brazilians? more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 10/25/2009

Excellent service and food. Fun atmosphere... And altough it's fancy, it's not uptight. Can't complain!!!! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 10/24/2009

The food is fabulous... Service is like you at at a used car dealership trying to sell you food... Dirty napkins with lipstick..... And ashes... With my birthday dessert.. My spoon had dirty food and potatoe on it.... The waiters response was hope you did not eat that off the spoon.... No appology.. Just giggles more
