The food is delicious. I had to review because I saw 2 bad reviews...maybe those people had bad expericences but I have been dining there for years. The food is always fresh and terrific!! PORTIONS ARE HUGE! I dont know what kinda portions the other reviewer is used to but the foods can hardly fit on the plate!!\r Absolutely love the fried rice and the sushi rolls! I cant even choose a single fav. Def try it out!!! Pros: FOOD, PORTIONS, TASTE, VALUE!!!!!!! Cons: Should stay open 24 hours a day! Thai any time!! more

Beautiful interior, halfway decent food, but abysmal service. Will never go there again, and am reviewing on every site I can find because of the bad experience. Hubby and I had a red dragon sushi roll, which was decent, but a bit on the expensive side ($13). Then we ordered green curry mild for me and red curry medium for my husband. Mine was much hotter than my hubby's (mine was supposed to be mild), and when the waiter came by to ask how things were, I told him, ""I think they got mixed up - mine is much hotter than his."" Waiter said, ""Oh, ok"" and walked away. I tried to eat mine, got through 1/4 and just couldn't do it, so helped finish off hubby's instead (yeah, I'm a wimp). The waiter comes by again and I told him that mine was too hot to eat. He says, ""Oh, I'm sorry. You want me to take that then?"" No offer to get me a new portion, give us a discount, anything. I didn't feel like making a big stink and demanding, so we just paid our check and left, never to return. The food is much smaller portions than I'm used to, not worth the price; food is decent but not great. Go to Thai Top on E.N. Street or any other Thai place, but not this one Pros: ambiance Cons: service, service, and service. Too expensive for what you get. more

First off, let me say I have frequented some of the best restaurants around. Thaicoon offers one of the best and cheapest Thai experiences you can get. I do not know what the other reviewer had as an experience but EVERY SINGLE TIME I travel to Greenville, SC, my very first stop, before even unloading my car, is Thaicoon! From the excellent sushi, I like the spider roll, as well as the spice tuna, and my fiance, she loves all of their sushi but especially the BBQ Eel and the Volcano Roll! \r The fried rice is excellent as well, try the 3 King Friend Rice! The curries are brilliant as well. They use only the freshest ingredients and this is going on my several years of patronage. They never use anything but the best ingredients. As for the service, Bobby, the owner, is always walking around greeting and grabbin a quick chat with you. If you go, HE WILL REMEMBER you!! LOL Trust me, very nice guy and always answering any question about the great food, fantastic drinks or the immensely cool Asian decor. Honestly, I am from Washington DC area and am pleading with Bobby to open one up here so I dont have to drive 9 hours for some excellent Thai food. Try any dish, or ask the servers for recommendations. There are several things I consider a MUST to try!\r Starter: SPRING ROLLS!!! Youll want to bathe in the Thaicoon sauce! Also try their wings or calamari!\r Main: Spicy Catfish or Massaman or Green Curry\r Rice: 3 King Fried Rice (Beef, Chicken and Pork) 4 King adds shrimp! \r Sushi: Spider Roll, (I live near the Chesapeake bay, I know crabs!! The roll here is to die For) or the spicy tuna roll and the avocado or volcano roll. \r Drinks: Thai Coffee is amazing as well as their plain sweet teas! Really amazing flavor. For acoholic beverages, the saki is great and the regular wine prices cant be beat...honestly...every night theres some sorta drink special. \r \r Everything has a spice level too so you can customize your dish! I am soo UPSET after my experience TODAY!!! The Thaicoon Ricefire? SUC$S ! ALL of the rice dishes on the menu taste like 2-day chinese buffet rather than thai! I also had a friend try to order a curry sauce and he had NO clue how to make it...LOL\r \r JUST a FYI to your guys! After stopping at this place and blowing my money on his so called thai-crap.. I had to do some investigative work! This is what I come up with! I must admit ...I just moved here a few years ago.. I do not know these people formally.. HOWEVER...I did hear STRAIGHT from an attorneys mouth who is trying to help out ...FREE OF CHARGE... b/c he too is sick of the situation!\r \r Here is the REAL story! The origional Thaicoon lady (E. North st) didn?t shut her doors OR MOVE to OLD BUNCOMBE RD!! She is having to business restructoring due Thaicoon off of Old Buncombe! However, SHE is the BEST and ORIGINAL Thaicoon (for several years)! She shut the doors b/c her so called boyfriend.. ?the owner of the new Thaicoon Ricefire?aka Bobby.? Was her cook and boyfriend. He used her and tried to copy everything thing she had! At least she was smart enough NOT to let him know everything.. WHICH IS A GIVEN... once you compare the two! I really feel sorry for here? She isn?t from the states and NOT knowing the laws left her in a BIND and a target for criminal minds to say the least!! Trust she is living and learning! HOWEVER? it looks like she will GAIN in the end!!! Just a FYI for you guys.. Bobby is a white boy from Greenville and will never be able to cook like her....
