Best

I love walking through this place. Its a great way to spend a day. I love the old movies. I think the horror chamber area is really fun during Halloween to take the kids.

A piece of history 2/25/2006

If you're into film or movie icons than this is the place for you to visit in the Los Angeles area. You'll find most every star possible in this locale and all life size. The location has been around for years but unfortunately it had it's hay day and the popularity stopped. Because of this, the museum chose to close it's doors last month and they are holding an auction to sell off the remaining pieces. It's sad because this was a staple in the Hollywood area but things do change. Hopefully you were able to check it out before it's demise. more

Good place 10/6/2005

If you like movie and TV stuff then you'll enjoy Movieland Wax Museum. Though not a great place for kids coz i feel they don't enjoy the life like statues of movie stars(instead they might enjoy cartoon characters) adults can just have fun browsing around the museum seeing the stars close up.We can see the stars very near to us though in reality we cannot even see the movie stars in live.We can thoroughly read their features at least from the statues. Its a kind of satisfaction that we have seen them up close.Though I found some did not bear any resemblance to the star they are supposed to be others are good.Yes,its true that its worth going there if u can get discounts or else the original price is a little high for just the wax statues. more

Movieland 9/24/2005

Movieland Wax Museum is a cool place to check out once. They have all kinds of famous celebrities and movie stars that look like the real thing. It is indeed kind of creepy and you feel like the wax creation in front of you could come alive and say hi. It is kind of pricey, but its a cool place to go once. more

Movieland Wax Museum 9/23/2005

Movieland Wax Museum is a decent place to go once, but I probably wouldn't go again. Some of the wax figures are very realistic, but others seem to bear litle resemblance to the person after whom they are modeled. I think it's a little overpriced, too, although there is a buy one, get one coupon in the entertainment book. more

A weird Afternoon 8/16/2005

Weird, Campy Creepy Fun for all ages. I don't know exactly what one is supposed to appreciate viewing a wax museum exhibit. I often find people staring at the scenes for several minutes taking it all in as if it were a Twobley painting, but I have fun at these bizarre spectacles. Anyway, if you were to spend a few minutes at every exhibit, you'd be here all day. This place is huge. It might take twenty minutes to walk through at a brisk pace not even looking at anything. Lots of weird fun. The best statues are the ones that don't look anything like the people they're supposed to. more

Unique Experience 8/7/2005

This place is so neat. Firstly, the admission price is very decent, and they publish numerous coupons and deals to get in. Once you're inside, they have wax figures ranging from the very old (Laurel & Hardy) to current television and movie stars. They have a really cool horror section too, that can scare even the adults!!! The experience is awesome, but its probably not worth bringing small kids who havent seen most of these movies, and could be scared by the lifelike aspect. more

Movieland Wax Museum 7/31/2005

The more knowledge you have of old movies and TV the more fun you'll have walking around the Movieland Wax Museum. The majority of wax figures are from old movies, the remaining from TV. There are a few pop stars and a politician. The museum is low-key and family oriented, although children may be bored unless they're the more imaginative sort. There are a couple of gift shops and a snack bar half way through. In the dark "Chamber of Horror" the Creature From the Black Lagoon and the shower scene from Psycho are about as scary as it gets. Admission is kind of steep--$16.90 for adults, $9.75 for children--so you may want to look around for discount coupons, like the one you can print out from the website. more
