The last three times I was at Mtn Home Car Care, the invoice was more than I thought it should be, and when I questioned it, and the owner and mechanic were brought in for questioning in regards to what was done, it turned out that the items on the invoice were not billed correctly or were not services performed. In each case, had I not questioned, I would have paid quite a bit more than I should have. There also seems to be a general lack of knowledge by the front desk staff on automotive issues. I find it's important to speak directly to the mechanic or the owner, Dave, to get my questions answered properly. My final complaint is that I feel pretty strongly that if I come in for a repair I should not be charge an hour of diagnostic time if I have the repair made while the car is in the shop. The diagnosis should be included if I'm paying another $200 to $300 for the actual repair. Also, if I drop it off with a specific complaint and then I come back to find that you have diagnosed 3 other problems and then charged me for diagnostic time, you are in effect charging me for something that I didn't authorize you to do. You should be clear with customers on what they expect and what you are charging up front, so there are no surprises. Having said all that, I think once these issues are ironed out, this will be a great place. I already have full faith in the mechanics and in Dave Kellerman, the owner. So, I'm giving 3 stars to the mechanics and 0 stars to the front desk. And I guess Dave is the guy who has to address whether diagnostic time should be charged when a repair is made or somehow included. I am a loyal customer when i know I am not overpaying and even more loyal when I feel like I am getting a great deal.
