Love the place 10/28/2011

: I have been to Mt. Rainer a couple times now and love it everytime. Luckily I have always gone on clear days and the views are stunning. Narada falls, Reflection Lake and the several small, easy trails at paradise point with lovely wildflowers are my absolute favorites. The drive to paradise point is extremely scenic and beautiful. I highly recommend this place. If you are visiting Seattle, the majestic, 14,000 ft plus Rainier is a must on your Itinerary. more

  • In Short
The Mount Rainier wilderness area became the fifth national park in 1899. Almost 40 percent (91,139 acres) remain old-growth forest. The 204 permanent alpine lakes provide a pristine home to many species of fish including rainbow, cutthroat and brook trout. Nearly 900 species of flora and 200 species of fauna inhabit the park. The Ohanapecosh Visitor Center is close to the Grove of the Patriarchs, a stand of ancient trees as old as the millennium.
