Mount Hood Pet Medical

No regard for life or death\r \r Two nights ago our beloved kitten got a hit by a car and fractured her jaw. We knew she probably would not live so we took her to Mt Hood Pet Medical for an evaluation. We handed the nice lady our last 50$. Both me and my mom get paid once a month so this was difficult for us.\r \r The Nice vet came in. explained that he would need to be put down which we agreed. I explained that we did not have the 175$ they would require today. He told me that they make exceptions and he would check.\r \r Well, Dr. NoBalls never came back to the room. He sent Miss Marcia B*tchy who explained why they couldn't do it. How they have so many expenses and it is just not worth their time to hold a check for such a small amount. She Explained how they are in the business of making money while me and mother cried.\r \r I hope the worst for Mt. Hood Pet Medical Center. They taught me that they care for Pets much the same way HMO's care about humans. They want your money. If it isn't enough they don't even want to look at you. more

They killed my 9 year old's kitten when I brought her in for worms and shots. The de-wormer pill choked her to death and they left me sitting in the waiting room for an hour before they called me back to tell me. Then they made a big deal about ""as a courtesy there will be no charge"" and as an extra bonus the cremation was provided free of charge. Gee, thanks. Last I checked they were still using the pill shooting device that killed our kitten. Beware! more

I have known Mount Hood Pet Medical and their staff since I have moved out to the NW from New England several years ago.. They have been my veterinarians since I moved here and have taken excellent care of my all my pets. I tend to have special needs animals and they know exactly what to do and always give me sound and accurate medical advice. They care a lot about the animals and it shows in the quality care they give their patience. I highly recommend Mount Hood Pet Medical for animals and their families. more

I went to Mt. Hood Pet Medical right before they were going to close, they were literally locking the doors and let me in. I didn't have an appointment but I wanted to get my two dogs examined and vaccinated before I had my baby in about a week. Dr. Nicole Van Abel agreed to see me even though the staff was in the process of leaving. She did a great job and spent a ton of time with me, didn't seem rushed at all and spent a lot of time talking to me about how to make the additon of a baby easier for my two dogs. I was so greatful for the care and it turned out it was lucky Dr. Van Abel saw me because I went into labor the next day! I sent a thank you card to the clinic and Dr. Van Abel sent me a hand written note congraulating me on the new addition to my family. I have never gotten better veterinary care, I highly recommend this clinic. more

I have had mixed feelings about the clinic in the past but seeing Dr. Nicole Van Abel was such a wonderful experience. She clearly loved my two dogs and they loved her!! She took time to answer all of my questions and I did not feel rushed in the appointment at all. She prescribed a medication to help with my dog's ears and showed me how to clean the ears and give the medication. She even called me twice at home to make sure the ear infection was clearing up. I plan on bringing my dogs only to her in the future as I felt they were so well cared for and she is such a pleasure to work with. I have been to many vets and she is by far my favorite. The rest of the staff was helpful as well and the clinic is clean and well-run. Sometimes you have to wait awhile for your appointment, but I find that to be true for most vet clinics. The prices are very reasonable, the cheapest in the area. I give this clinic and Dr. Van Abel 5 stars. more

Terrible service. We had an 8 am appointment, arrived as they unlocked the door and were told we were late. The receptionist took dog walk-ins before us and was told it was because they paid more, and was annoyed and rude the entire time she was working with us. more
