Recently I made an appointment for my 2 year old daughter in the dental department. I attempted to also make appointments for my other children 5 and 7, which I was informed they were not accepting children in that age group. I was told that they see children up to 18, and this is not true! I had to wait almost 4months to get into my appointment.
The dentist was running behind for my daughter's appointment and I had to wait almost 40 minutes to get the visit. The dentist was very nice and informative, but the woman that was working with her was very rude. She left the dentist working by herself to talk on the phone for nearly 10 minutes, by her conversation I could tell it was a personal call that was not an emergency! She continued to talk on the phone even when my daughter started getting fussy and began crying. The dentist was having a difficult time keeping her still by herself, so I came over and held her hand and kept an arm on her belly so she wouldn't roll off the chair. After, the nurse got off the phone she left the room without even asking the dentist if she needed any help and it was obvious she did!
The dentist had to get an approval before dismissing us from another dentist. We waited for almost 30 minutes for this other dentist to come in. The dentist and nurse moved on to another patient and left us sitting on the other side of the room. My little girl was already upset and ready to go but we had to wait for yet another dentist. The nurse paged the other dentist to the room 2-3 times before he finally came in there.
I mentioned my dislike to the dentist about how her help wasn't helping her and she was rude by taking phone calls while she should be working with clients. I was directed to a supervisor named Rachel. She offered to give me a list of other dentists in my area, which was odd that she didn't want to keep established patients. She seemed to not care about my concern and quickly stated she would ""talk to her and contact me later"". I decided to take the list just in case, even though my intention was to voice my concern so other parents and children wouldn't receive the same treatment in the future and not to go elsewhere. I never received any phone calls about this after I had given her my contact information.
I will not return to get future treatment here. They were unprofessional and didn't seem to value my business. I believe that answering phone calls during an appointment and leaving people to wait for long periods of time with young children is unacceptable! I do understand that things happen and people run behind, but the way the supervisor dismissed my concerns was the biggest slap in the face. I have since found a new dentist that we love. Due to the unprofessional approach across the board from the nurse, the other dentist, and the supervisor I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! You can get much better service in a smaller private office that will make appointments for all your children and not just under 3. Also, they would value your business and care if you return, unlike Mott who OBVIOUSLY does not care about concerns or if you and your child returns.
