There are probably only four or five restaurants in Columbia that can rank with Motor Supply. The ever-changing menu is an insurance policy against culinary laziness. There is always something new waiting for you at this, the best restaurant in the Vista. Here you can count on an exciting dish that has been prepared with thought and care. The cuisine is progressive American (I have no idea why it is listed as French here--perhaps the editors can correct this) but the chef seems to trust his ingredients enough to create simple, delicious harmonies rather than overwrought cacophonies. Out of over ten visits, I only had one bad dish (duck which was ordered medium yet cooked beyond well-done and dry as a bone). Every other time I have had excellent meals consisting of wonderfully fresh ingredients. Ample portions & entrees in the mid-$20 range make for a great value as well. The wine list is full of nice selections by the glass, with an eye toward value rather than pretension; that said, there are also plenty of bottles for over $150 on the complete list for the enologically inclined. Go and eat there, soon. \r

Pros: stellar food, great service, wonderful location
Cons: once had overcooked duck, but that is a rare (ahem) exception
