I wasn't expecting a lot out of a motel 6, but I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and simple the rooms where. They even had a modern decor and a clean smell. The air conditioner frame was falling off, but it still worked well. I have no complaints about the room itself. The staff at the desk, however, was quite a different story. \r

When I called to make my reservation, I happened to be sitting in their parking lot. I was told by the manager on duty that they had rooms available for $29.95 if I arrived within the next hour. So, 30 seconds later, I parked, walked in and asked for a $29.95 room. The manager proceeded to tell me that they didn't have any rooms available at that price (he didn't realize that I was the caller). I'm not sure how they work things in the country he originated from, but here in the USA, we believe in the virtues of honesty and integrity. It was only after I told him that I was the caller that he gave me the room at the discounted rate. Liar.\r

At checkout time, I stood at the front desk for 3 minutes - completely unacknowledged - before some grunt came to take my card and begrudgingly muffled ""thank you"". After that, I couldn't wait to post a review of my experience.\r

I wasn't expecting 4 star service, but if it wasn't for visitors like me, these folks would NOT be in business. A sincere ""thank you"" and a clean room is all I needed. Since they don't seem to want visitors, I'll happily oblige them and visit another hotel.\r
